“Couldn't be closer to USF and/or Busch Gardens”
Reviewed 7 March 2010

Stayed at the hotel for a single night. Being a Hilton Diamond level member I am used to a little bit mnore enthusiastic welcome however the front desk was polite, professional, and efficient; no complaints whatsoever.

Obviously is is actually ON the USF campus so if you are visiting anybody there I am not sure how much more convenient of a stay it could be.

Since the hotel is so big it takes a little bit more effort to give the guests that personal touch and that effort was just a littole bit lacking. Not that the employees were anything less than friendly and polite, most certainly not. However in this economy I would expect a little bit more attention to this aspect by management.

That being said, the breakfast was delicious, the rooms immaculate and comfortable. There were no long lines at the elevator & the hotel is within walking distance of MANY affordable and family friendly restaurants.

All in all a great comfortable stay.

Property is very, very shop worn. Seems to be mid-80's architecture...nothing has been done since that time. In-room lighting is at best, dim making it impossible to work. A/C had a high pitched whistle that could not be fixed. Housekeeping is passable only. Food is tasteless, service is just ok. Front desk staff is uncaring and the bellstaff is downright rude. There are other brand name properties in close proximity at half the price.

standard Embassy but you can tell the age. Lobby is nice but bathroom can use some renovating or updating, especially in the bathrooms.
Nobody seemed to check if people using the pool were actual guests. You didn't need a room key to get in through the parking lot and it's on the backside of the building.
Also it didn't seem to be cleaned as often(like some other reviewer said) b/c empty beer cans were laying around the whirl pool. It did eventually get picked up though.
all in all, standard Embassy, we always stay for the two room feature and the breakfasts.

I stayed from Jan 15 to 17. Even though there was a computer issue at check-in, staff was accommodating and apologetic and was even jovial. Very engaging at checkout as well. Nice touch with the free breakfast and free internet access as well as the suite. It is near the campus of the University of South Florida and close to many food outlets. Rate of $ 119 was great for what we got.

I have stayed at this hotel on and off for years. This time I was truly disappointed with the declining condition of this hotel. The King size bed was lumpy and the linens are cheaper and worn. My grandson was to sleep on the sofabed .. but we had second thoughts when we saw the stains and awful condition. The inset sink had tons of mold under the rim; Water pressure fluctuated a lot! The hotel is a magnet for young traveling groups and this weekend was not exception - cheerleaders, soccer, and basketball teams. However, they were not a issue - polite and under control.
Good side: The people working the front desk are outstanding as are the breakfast workers. The happy hour is almost worth all the decline. The breakfast/omelet bar is a redeeming value. Wish they would renovate to meet general Embassy standards. But, since my daughter is at USF for another 2 years.. I guess I will be back.

Spent the weekend of 11/14 for my brothers wedding. Loved the free breakfast in the morning and the free happy hour from 5-7. I thought the hotel was beautiful and the staff was accomodating and friendly. Tom was wonderful and I have to say, he was the absolute highlight of the weekend for all of my brothers friends and family. He was always willing to do whatever he could to help us out, and made our weekend!!!

Recently stayed at this Embassy Suites for 2 nights to visit Busch Gardens. This is the first time we have used Embassy Suites and we were very impressed. This is an excellent location and with the free shuttle to Busch Gardens you can forget about the car, just leave it in the hotel car park. The room was very clean, we had to call maintenance and housekeeping to fix a problem in the bathroom, this was handled immediately so really no problem. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The managers drinks reception was a welcome addition and the free breakfast was great. All in all a very introduction to Embassy Suites.
