“OK for inexpensive conventions.”

I attended a convention here last week and the accommodations were adequate fr a convention hotel. However, it was in a business park with nothing else around it, no shops, restaurants etc. If this wasn't business the location would have been a real negative. The hotel food wasn't anything beyond mediocre and for a hotel that had recently been renovated the condition of the carpeting in the main areas and elevators was disgusting.

I spent four nights at this hotel. The check in process was very good and the staff were very friendly. Because of my SPG status I was upgraded to a suite which I appreciated.
I have to say the hotel feels cold. All the lights in the room and throughout the hotel use florescent light bulbs which give a very cold and dated look to the hotel and the rooms, even though the rooms are renovated. When I checked in my phone and internet were not working but the front desk sent someone right away.
If you have to stay in Brandon area, this is not a bad choice.

Room Tip: Upgrading to a suite is definitely worthwhile, especially with a larger group.

I walked into my room and immediately smelled the dirt. The carpet looked as if it hadn't been cleaned in years. The bathroom floor desperately needed mopping. The sliding glass doors had smudges from someone leaning his/her forehead against it. And the pillows smelled well-used and unused to soap. So on the surface, the room looked nice, but it wasn't up to my standards. Bleh.

The Sheraton Tampa East is average at best from a location, amenities and service perspective. First, don't be fooled - it's not anywhere near downtown and has very limited to no surroundings for restaurant or shopping options. The hotel is old and in desperate need of updating. The service level is average. Not one of my best Starwood experiences.

We take great pride in our property, as we recently completed a ten million dollar renovation to become a Sheraton property. This major renovation included the entire guest rooms from the carpet to the bedding, the lobby area, and all guest facilities. Thank you again for your time in sharing your experience.

Two day business trip and needed convenience to the office I was visiting, and achieved that objective, but aside from that there was little that was memorable about this stay. Not that there was anything seriously wrong...checkin was pleasant, bed was comfortable...but the overall atmosphere of this hotel and at least the floor I was occupying is dark and somewhat depressing. This is the brownest hotel I have ever been in...carpet, walls, curtains...everything from the elevator to the room and in the room was brown...led to an overall oppressive feeling. The carpets were stained in the hallways and in the rooms...that also leaves a negative memory. And whatever digital television service is being used, changing channels takes a lot of work....sometimes it works, sometimes it skips channels...sometimes it just doesn't. Was going to try the restaurant but was spooked by the fact that there was nobody else in there...nearest food of any variety is 5-7 miles away. Average stay at an average place...probably would try elsewhere next time just for a little color....

Thank you for your time in reviewing our property. I am sorry we were unable to provide a positive memorable experience for you during your recent stay. We recently completed a ten million dollar renovation and brown was the color palette selected to create a modern feel and I am sorry it creating an oppressive atmosphere. While we are three to five miles away from a variety of restaurants, we do encourage guests to take advantage of our complimentary shuttle service for convenient transportation within five miles of the property. We are disappointed to hear that you may not select this property during your next visit to the Tampa area, and we sincerely hope you are willing to give us another try.

Even though this hotel has been updated, the room had a musty smell as if it were old. And the restaurant was awful. There is really nothing else very close by, so the restaurant should be decent, at a minimum. We had dinner here one night as we'd worked late, and it was just awful.

We checked in late and Karen was extremely accommodating. It was way to good of a night already, but much appreciated. The next morning, both Heather and Samona were extremely friendly and offered any assistance possible. We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast buffet and went back to bed in our very comfortable bed. Couldn't be happier with the room or service provided! We will definitely return when we are in the area again!!
