“Nice place but with some problems”
Reviewed 3 October 2011

I booked through priceline so can not really complain. But will offer my comments for those paying full price. The room was very nice and big. It was clean. The hotel had a nice bar area with decent prices for a higher end hotel. I too had an internet problem but found when I logged out and back in it worked just fine the rest of the weekend. And no additional cost of the internet which is a plus. It has parking but hard to find a spot during work hours as this in an office complex. Also a bit of hassle to get up to the room from the parking. Note, do not park above level five as you can not get into hotel only the office complex. Agree with what others said and wish the refrigerator allowed you to put some of your own item in to cool. One day only one of the elevators ( of three ) worked which was frustrating as there were some long waits. Pool is on the roof so not like some with the nice landscaping, but nice enough. My biggest problem was they did not clean my room one day. When I called down they told me they are a green hotel and do not clean daily unless you ask. Also there were room service trays and half bottles of wine laying in the hallways for a couple of days straight without being picked up. The smell of mustard was getting a little overwhelming.

Room Tip: Ask to stay in the back away from front road noise. If you want to use the pool, ask for a room on...

Do not stay at this hotel if you need reliable internet. I saw they had free wifi and had not read anything negative on tripadvisor so I trusted it worked. It did not. 4 hours of trying to use the internet produced about 20 minutes worth of okay usage. The rest of the time was spent repeatedly getting kicked off the internet or it moving at a very very slow pace. I spoke with the Ethostream (internet provider) rep and 2 hotel reps to no avail. The ethostream rep indicated they had too many users for the bandwith the hotel had.

On a positive note...
The bed was very comfortable, the room and bathroom were large sized. The decor is as pictured on their site - blue accent wall in bedroom and mutlicolored tiles in the bath - very nice.
The closet provided 10+ hangers which is nice for the business traveler - most hotels I visit only offer 4-5. Hotel about 7 minutes from Tampa International Airport.

The hotel provides free self parking behind the hotel. If you are on heading East on Kennedy, you'll pass the hotel on your right. Turn right at the light (Westshore) and then right again at the next light into the parking garage. Go to the stop sign and make a right. The hotel parking garage entrance is up slightly on your right.

DINING OPTIONS:
Within walking distance: Maggianno's, PF Changs, Seasons 32, and Mitchell's Fish Market
Within 5 minutes driving: McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks, Chick-fila

Caution... The minibar is pressure sensitized, so you cannot remove their items to store your own.

Overall: Room was nice, bed was great, convenient location - but would not stay here again if I was travelling on business and needed to use the internet.

Nice room, nice staff. Very quiet, and we got the room at a great price. We stayed here one night over labor day weekend. It is very close to the airport, the mall, and ybor city. I loved it, would definitely stay here again.

For the price, you can not beat this place. 10-15 minutes from the airport, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. It is also surprisingly cheap to have drinks there. 5 bucks for beer - inside a big hotel ? 4 bucks for a beer from the mini-fridge ? Super cheap.

The downsides - the pizza recommendation by the desk was terrible [do not EVER get WESTSHORE pizza in Tampa]. Other than that, the offices proximity as other people have noted my bother you some but you wouldn't come to this place to have a relaxing getaway. This is more a corporate stay OR a cheap one night place close to the airport.

Room Tip: Try NOT to get a room facing the road - there is traffic all night long.

This hotel is definitively geared towards the business traveler. Nice but not 'special'. I had a room that looked directly into a wing of offices so close you could see the computer screens people were using. Not very comfortable!! Also it is attached to what seemed like some sort of business mall.

Not my kinda place at all......

We stayed here over the Labor Day weekend. The hotel was nice. Our room was very clean and the hotel was pretty quiet in general. We were on the same floor with the pool, but in the opposite hallway. I don't think I would have wanted to stay in a room on the way to the pool, however, because we did occasionally hear people getting on and off the elevator on the way to the pool. My preference would be to ditch the minibar and have a small refrigerator available for me to keep water and snacks, but alas...that is not the case.

My husband and I found the bed to be comfortable, and the room to be pretty quiet and very dark with the drapes closed. We were very happy to be able to sleep in during our time off.

Like others, I would recommend parking your own car in the parking garage attached to the hotel. It's free and quite convenient. We never had a problem finding a space on the third or fourth floor.

The wi-fi was free, which was a refreshing change from what we're used to staying in Chicago.

All in all, it was a good place to stay and we would stay there again.

Room Tip: Unless you want quick access to the pool, stay away from the 9th floor if you can.

I enjoyed the stay. The room was nice and the service adequate. I probably will not choose this hotel again. I did like the convenience of the stores across the street--and the price at the stores and for the hotel was reasonable.
