“Pizza is like religion”

you know when it fills that "need in your soul". In Tampa, Paci's does it for us. Please don't slam my simile or get picky - I'm picky about my pizza and this hits the spot.

We've done eat-in and take-out, as a couple and with friends. The staff is welcoming and the service is right. 'nuff said.

“To Tell Y'all The God's Honest Truth....”
Reviewed 29 November 2013 via mobile

The best pizza I've had in the South. Great tangy in-house sauce and dough. Very flavorful to which pizza foodies would appreciate. To describe the size... I had to call and tell my wife and tell her I had to put down the back seat to fit it into my 4Runner! Something this size could never taste that good, but... It certainly DID. I'm from Boston and bar pizza is the holy grail of ALL pizza and I would say this comes in second... Which says a lot! Go Sox!

“Now this is pizza!”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Always hard to find a pizza place that you can go to -- and still be thinking about in 3 days later and go back. If you are looking for such a place - give Paci's a try. It's a really great pizza place - and as many have already said - if your looking for anything else maybe its not the place -- but if its really great NY style pizza your wanting that is about as close to perfect as you can get ---- Paci's. Its not fancy - but it sure is good.
The pizzas themselves are massive - bigger than just huge. Best to order them by the slice - with 2 slices being bigger than most places havea medium for. The crust is perfect - and the slices are foldable. I also like the Brooklyn sodas that they have as well.

“This is THE place for NY style pizza in Tampa”
Reviewed 24 August 2013

Moving from southern CT to the Tampa area, we improved our weather situation but left behind some of the best pizza in the US. After sampling many Tampa pizza establishments, we had pretty much given up on finding a family owned pizza joint like we frequented "back home". Paci's was recommended to us by someone familiar with some of our old CT pizza places, so we had to give them a try.

Paci's has a nice pizza joint atmosphere. No frills here, a simple (but clean) place with the pizza making done right out in the open. Love to actually see the pizza dough stretching, since many FL pizza restaurants use premade shell crusts. Menu is limited to pizzas, pizza rolls, calzones and salads - exactly as it should be for a true "pizza joint'.

Pizzas only come in one size, but that size is gargantuan. Menu says it's an 18" pie but in reality it's a 24" pie. Since we always want leftovers, our party of 4 ordered a large pie (with pepperoni/mushroom) plus a meatball parmigiani roll. The meatball roll itself was enough for a meal for 2. The pizza is truly a sight to behold, the slices dwarf the paper plates you eat them off of. So, the quantity is excellent. Let's move on to the taste. The crust is definitely NY style thin with a nice chew to it. The cheese and toppings on our pie were a perfect compliment to the crust, the result is an excellent true NY style pizza taste. The meatball roll (think Stromboli) was also excellent. Nicely spiced meatballs encased in that same crust, with some of the fresh tomato sauce for dipping.

Service was also excellent, very attentive waitress.

Paci's is also a great value. Since one pie will easily feed 4, you could easily spend less here than almost any fast food joint. Although we didn't order one, the salads appeared to be enough for 2-4 people (served family style).

Our only sort of nit-picky complaint was the paper plates and plastic silverware. But if you are ready to eat your pizza like a true New Yorker, this becomes a non-issue.

We were extremely pleased with Paci's and will definitely return.

“And a table for the pizza”
Reviewed 2 July 2013

Was visiting Tampa last weekend and met some family at Paci's. What a great experience! Was greeted by the cooks (owner?) upon entering and quickly seated. Told our server we were a party of six and she said they'd need to pull one more table together so there would be room for the pizza. She wasn't kidding. They all come in one size and the menu says 18" but I swear they look bigger. We ordered a half cheese, half multi topping pie and a spinach calzone and still had leftovers. Both were extremely tasty. All dough and sauce are made in-house. We also had a couple of the chocolate-dipped canolis for dessert and they were as good as the rest of the meal. This is a no frills place that uses paper plates and drinks in cans or bottles but the prices reflect this. A great value. We ordered some wine which was served in nice stemware. Kid-friendly, our girls were given a hunk of fresh dough to play with while waiting. Super friendly waitress. People seemed like they enjoyed working there. Now just need an excuse to go back to Tampa!
