When we first arrived we were given a condo that was very outdated and dirty. Not the pictures from the website at all. We were then moved to another condo which was nicer but not like the photos. I would not rate this a 3.5 star hotel at all. Booked off of priceline so I was stuck with it but it shouldnt be one of their higher rated hotels. I might consider staying again but at a much better price.

The property was very nice, our room not so much.

It stunk of smoke, cigarette butts on the ground which I thought was totally unacceptable, especially all over balcony.

The carpet was soaked, somewhere was a leak and puddling up so it had a musty smell and i'm sure lots of mold growing in the carpet pad.

The view was spectacular, and despite all the negative we had a great time and really enjoyed our stay.

Other rooms might be nicer but we will probably stay elsewhere next time.

Just got back from a weeklong stay. We knew going in that this was a timeshare and that all units are probably quite different depending on the owners. We were fortunate to get an end unit (2 beds 2 baths). The end units have windows all along the outer wall, and this one was nice and light; I can't imagine being in any of the center units with windowless walls on either side of these long narrow apartments, and light only coming from the front and back.

pros
- decor very tasteful - off-white walls and white fixtures, neutral tile and carpeting, some upscale features like marble sills on the windows.
- the complex very quiet, even on a Saturday night.
- awesome to have amenities like a full kitchen and washer/dryer right in the unit.

cons
- walls extremely thin, could hear every sound made by upstairs neighbors (these were quiet folks, just going about their everyday business)
- wireless not included, in fact it is purchased BY DEVICE. Seriously? Imagine going to a hotel or resort and being told that cable or satellite TV is available at an additional fee, per monitor.
- decor - in our unit the entire floor-to-ceiling mirrored wall in the living room was just weird. We get it that you're trying to make the room look bigger but could really have done without this.
- Building 1, Marlin, has no ocean view even though it faces the ocean, because of vegetation at the back of the property. That's a bummer. Not sure about the other buildings.
- nice to have a balcony, but these balconies are so tiny that there is basically no room to be out there because they all have 2 resin chairs and a small table. One person can sit and read a book but two or more wouldn't be comfortable.
- Overall the unit could use a touch-up of the fixtures - things like: the sliding door to the balcony extremely difficult to open/close; the master unit window was loose and on windy nights banged around within the casing until shimmed; one of the bathroom locks was broken such that it was difficult to open the door once shut; recessed light fixture over the shower was missing its cover, so it was just exposed bulb and wiring inside the can; saggy twin bed mattresses; these were all things we could live with but they'd be easy to fix and would add up to a better experience.

Other info
- no daily housekeeping - for us this was fine, for some might not be
- there is a small sandy beach and a pool on the property as well as boat docks
- close by, at the end of Burton Road there is Harry Harris Park, which has a bigger beach. We found decent snorkeling off the little jetty to the left.

Room Tip: Definitely get an end unit - larger and lighter.

Though advertised as a hotel, it is not one and does not provide hotel services. If you want a condo, this place may satisfy your needs, though it is not really great, though clean. But we were there for two nights and were not pleased to learn that we did not have maid service and had to use our room towels, which were not to be replaced, for the pool or beach. Even as a condo, it was poorly supplied, not even little things like salt and pepper or the many food items that one usually finds in a condo. There was a coffee maker that needed special pods, but pods were there only for the first day. (remember, no maid service.) Each unit is separately owned and I gather they differ significantly. Ours was totally clean, but on the shabby and dreary side, like a cheap condo often is. Except, the condo was not cheap. We had no clue it would be so downscale. Plus, our unit (in the "Marlin Suites", or Building 1) was a great distance from the pool and even further from the beach. It was the farthest from the ocean, though you could see the ocean (in the distance) if you walked out on the tiny balcony.

I would pass on this complex, which is not a hotel, unless you are looking for a condo and will be staying at least a week and don't mind having to buy every provision you will need to eat, including mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper, sugar, etc. etc. I think I would pass on Ocean Point even if I were interested in a condo but that is just my taste. And, as I say, it was no bargain. If I had had a bargain rate, perhaps I would have viewed it differently.

My wife walked in and her first comment about the unit was how shabby and dated it was.... Consider that if you book here given that every unit is apparently different.

On the plus side, the pool area was nice. There were also outdoor tennis courts (hot, hot, hot) and a playground area for kids to play. Those parts of the facilities were well done. The little private beach has chairs on them; but it is a fairly rocky and small beach, like most beaches in the Keys, and one that is not all that appealing as a beach, though the water setting is beautiful.

Room Tip: call before you book. the higher the number of the building, the closer to the water you are. I wa...

The outside grounds and facilities were attractive. However, the individually owned condos need a great deal of renovation. Our bed frames were simply 2X4's nailed together with wood slats for a box spring. There was mold on the night stand. There were no batteries in the TV remote. There was visible mold on the jets in the whirlpool tub. The drawers on the vanity fell out when you opened them. The towel rack was falling off the wall. The dishwasher required 3 service calls, and it still didn't work. There were not enough cooking utensils in this "fully equipped" kitchen. When I went to roast a chicken, there was no roasting pan. When I called the front desk, they sent up 2 frying pans. The ice cream was melting in the refrigerator. The coffee pot was equal to the small convenience pots found in hotel bathrooms. If you wanted a second cup, you had to make another pot. We met people at the pool who had the same experiences, and we met people at the check in who were demanding a refund. I would not stay at this complex again.

Room Tip: I was told that Building 4 on the higher floors, in the corners has the best accommodations.

My boyfriend and I stayed in May 2013 and really enjoyed it! We picked this hotel because of a Groupon that was being offered. The room was great, the private beach is great, and the service was great! The only thing that could have been better, was how dated the room seemed. Some updates and renovations are needed, but overall it was a great stay.

Very nice resort with excellent amenties and services on site. Great place to stay if you have a boat or plan to do some diving or fishing. Room was clean and modern. Would recommend to stay for any trip in the area.

Room Tip: Ocean views are the best or something near the beach area and pool for convenience.
