Ocean Pointe suites is an excellent base for time spent on the Keys. It has a marina and its own beach for watersports and many guests take their own boats.
Many of the suites have sea views and its worth getting up early to see the sunrise.
We had a two bedroom suite which would be perfect for a family. One room with king bed and the other with twins - both with ensuite bathrooms.
The rooms seem to be equipped for people to stay for long peiods of time - washer and dryer, iron and board and a very well equipped kitchen.
There are TVs in both bedrooms as well as in the lovely lounge area.
There are tennis courts and a large swimming pool on the complex. There is a small bar but no restaurant when we were there but there was some re-furbishing going on so that might change however there are so many places to eat around the area that it is not a problem and self-catering is easy.
Highly recommended.

This Stay was very reasonable for the price of the two bedroom unit. Heated Pool and Ocean Views are the biggest plus. All the units are different and some owners are cheaper than others so the unit(s) set ups may vary from ok to very good i.e. (Updated Kitchens, Flat Screen TVs, Furniture etc.) The Staff was very helpful and the Marina Cafe is now OPEN!!! as of Jan 17th. I would Stay again. The unit we had was very nice:)

If you want a clean, well maintained condo this is not the place for you!!! We experienced filthy dirty floors(our feet were black after walking barefoot); refuse under beds; drains clogged in main bath and kitchen sink. Dryer so loud we could not run it while inhouse, probably lack of insulation . Fabric on couch cushions so worn out there were holes; torn wallpaper; peeling paint; light bulbs out; balcony so small two could hardly fit; screens ripped and railing paint badly chipped. Otherwise, the veiw was nice and the elevator ran quickly. Would not consider going back nor recommending to anyone.

We stayed in April 2008 and now again in Jan 2009 for a couple of days. All in all we have seen three different condos, which were, in line with other reviewers reports, in different conditions from good to just-too-old.

All in all the resort is quite nice, but do not expect five star all-inclusive service. The service is quite basic, no maid, you do all your washing and cleaning yourself. That in turn makes the price, whichever booking engine you use Ocean Pointe comes out cheap. There is a little bar at the reception building, but not a too inviting setup.

The pool is clean, but bring your own towel. The towel service for some unexplainable reason does just not work. It would be easy to change that, but management appears to have some other focus...

The beach is small, but do not expect large white beaches when you come to the keys. You will always find a chair to relax and stretch your bones.

What is certainly missing is wireless internet. You are told you can sit around the reception building to have internet, but I do not want to sit there for two hours researching something when I could sit with my friends in the condo with a drink doing it there. It's just not a viable option.

The view on the ocean was just great from our forth floor very spacious two bedroom condo!

The resort is close to everything and quite and well maintained.

If you are looking for an affordable stay in the keys and know that you get what you pay for then please stay at Ocean Pointe!

After reading the other reviews, I was prepared for either a great experience or the pits. I have to say, this place was not that bad. Sure there were minor annoyances but nothing terrible. It was things like a leaky kitchen faucet that were mildly bothersome. The appliances all worked. Everything was clean. We were on the 4th floor with a great view. The pool is large, but the availability of towels was inconsistent. We found it best to keep a towel and wash it in our own washer/dryer combination. The sheets on the bed were not fitted well. The place was quiet. One surprise we found nearby was the Florida Keys Wild Bird Center. Be sure to visit and if you can go at 3:30 when wild birds are fed. If you stay, you need to realize that it is a bit of a gamble because the individual condos vary. Our living room furniture was very comfortable but spoiled by poor lighting that was inadequate for reading. Cable TV worked but the reception should have been better. Overall, I heard no complaints from the other patrons during my five nights there. Be sure to bring things like coffee filters and a small quantity of laundry detergent if you plan to wash clothes. There is no daily maid service. It’s a perfectly satisfactory place for the price, it’s just not outstanding.
