Soft soft white sand that stretches as far as you can see. Umbrellas and chairs to rent for $20 anywhere you want them. Snow cone's ice cream, refreshments iced and otherwise all very close walking distance along with clean (yes seriously) clean restrooms and showers. Yeah, you pay $5 per car to get into the park but if this level of clean unspoiled beach is bought for $5 - it's money well spent.

Warm water, clear water and an incredible Gulf view made for a very relaxing day at the beach. We spent so much time tossing around a football with family and just met new friends. This is a very beautiful, clean beach - you won't be disappointed.

This is a beautiful campground. We stayed on site 231 right on the water and were surrounded by privacy, beautiful low palms and all around beauty! To be able to watch dolphins in the water right off our campsite was great. The sites here have a fixed charcoal grill. They charge you to rent a ring to have a camp fire so we ended up roasting marshmallows using the coals on the grill after cooking out. The bathrooms at this campground were clean, showers on the small side but they had warm water so we were happy. All of the sites have unique character. Some were completely surrounded by low palms and it seemed like mini-caves. Very private sites. I would go here again in the future. There were bushes that lined the shore on site 231 so if you go, I'd recommend a site that has a better view of the water but otherwise, it wasn't bad at all. You can't swim off the shore due to the deep holes that are mentioned on signs but it was nice to put our feet in the water and wach the dolphins and wonderful Florida birds.

Picnic under the palms, check!
Fishing off the Gulf Pier, check!
A dog beach too? This place is too cool!
Sure beats fighting the traffic to get up to Clearwater or the other places to the North along the bay...
Park Rangers also helpful and friendly, vice being on a vendetta to catch you at something that you likely are not doing...

This is my favorite park in the Tampa Bay area, primarily because as a birder, it is a mecca to visit in spring and fall. The beaches are clean; the roads clear of debris and litter; the picnic areas excellent. The staff at the Visitor Center are wonderful and very helpful.
