Not a new hotel by any means, but as well maintained as could be expected. Refurbishments are gradually being done. Manager Steve and his right hand Amanda are very friendly and will provide anything missing in your room.

This year we had a penthouse apartment, which had recently been refurbished and was great - more space than the other apartments with a wonderful view from the 6th (top) floor over the ocean, John's Pass and Madeira Beach. It was nicely furnished, and unlike a hotel chain every room is not identical. A dishwasher is provided and there is a laundry room for guest use.

The garden and pool/hot tub areas are very attractive with sun beds, table and chairs, with gas powered barbecues available for guest use.The Nordvind is set directly on the beach, the last hotel before the bridge to John's Pass, and has a path from the garden onto the gorgeous white beach and fishing pier.

Location wise it would take a lot to beat, with its setting on the very long beach. It is not far to the Treasure Island centre and only a short walk over the bridge to John's Pass with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, pleasure and fishing boat trips etc - all in all, a pretty place with a good ocean boardwalk.

We will definitely be back later on this year!!!

This place is disgusting. Dirty, holes in ceiling, leaks, miss-matched decore, missing utensils, appliances that are falling apart, filthy carpets, unsafe doors that look like they were broken into. When brought to management's attention, he says, "Oh that just happened". Really? It's been like that for years. A professional corporation needs to come in and take the place over so timeshare owners get the investment they were promised when they bought. And, vacationers get what they see online. The place is a joke!

We have owned a timeshare week here for about 25 years. The place was built in 1984 and looks like it. The location is directly on the beach across the bridge from Johns Pass. Everything is in walking distance except grocery store. The beach and sunset view are awesome. Don't expect much updates on the rooms but everything else is worth it!

This is the perfect location if you like to walk to food and shopping as John's Pass is just over the bridge and Gator's is across the street. There's awesome views, a nice pool with hot tub and everyone is really friendly. The kitchen and Bathrooms need updating and this would be a 5 star. It's about a 2 star accommodation but that view is definitely a 5 star. The sunsets are breathtaking and being able to open up the wall of sliding glass doors and listen to the waves is amazing!!

Our second visit to the Nordvind. It is an older building but very friendly, laid back, comfortable and relaxing. Every apartment (the one-bed ones) face the sea, the views are lovely. Steve and Amanda are very friendly and knowledgeable regarding places to go.

It is showing its age, but everything works and is as well kept as possible. The apartments are plenty large enough for the two of us with a full kitchen/diner equipped with sink disposal unit, full cooker, microwave and dish washer, a sitting room and smallish bedroom. The balcony stretches right along the sitting room area and bathroom. The sitting room has a bed/sofa. The bathroom is not very large, but adequate.

As it is a time share building there isn't a cleaning service but there is a supply of clean bedding, towels etc in the apartment and more can be obtained from the front office. There is a guest laundry, and detergent pellets are provided.

Outside is a nice pool with loungers and a barbecue are with seating and tables. The gardens are well planted. The property is directly on the beach and has chairs available for guests to take onto the lovely, white sand beach, on which you can walk for miles if you so wish. The hotel is right next to the exit into the sea from John's Pass, and the sea wall has a walkway along the top, ending up as a fishing pier - very popular, always someone there.

It is not right in Treasure Island centre but in a nice, quiet location yet convenient for John's Pass - on the road side is a bridge leading over to John's Pass, an attractive ex-fishing village which is now a tourist attraction - lots of shops, restaurants, bars and fishing/dolphin spotting etc. boat trips - just a 10 minute walk over the twin span drawbridge or a 4 minute car drive BUT easier to walk as parking is expensive in John's Pass!!

Another great holiday- will definitely go there again when in Florida.
