Beach Side Palms

My husband and I, along with our adult daughter, stayed in this motel recently and found it very comfortable, clean, small, and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. It only has 7 rooms, ours was an efficiency studio (traveler palm) and was plenty of room for the 2 of us. Our daughter had her own efficiency room with a murphy bed (lady palm), and it also was comfortable for her. Kitchen is fully furnished with pots & pans, dishes, silverware, etc. Lots of extras, including coffee maker and coffee. The motel is right on the beach, which is the widest beach I have ever seen on the gulf. this means you have to walk quite a ways down to the water, but it was not a problem.
They provide lounge chairs for the beach, beach towels, coolers, grills, hammock, clothes line for towels and bathing suits, outdoor shower, parking right out side our door. We very much enjoyed our week with them. The owners do not live on site and you only see Brian or Katie once a day when they come by to check on everything and to see if anyone needs anything. found this a little different, but no problems. They can be reached by phone 24/7.

In spite of Tropical Storm Andrea, our 4 nights at Beach Side Palms were wonderful. We stayed in the Coconut Palm, the unit on the end, so we had a view of the gulf and windows on 3 sides which we kept open, enjoying the breeze/wind. The owners have done an amazing job restoring, furnishing and decorating this vintage Florida treasure, and being there brought back fond memories of summers at my grandfather's motel on Daytona beach. I just hope the next time we go, we will have some sun! We only live a couple of hours away, so we will be back very soon.

Room Tip: The Coconut Palm is on the end on the beach side so you have the gulf view and it feels like a priva...

We have been enjoying Beachside Palms for about 8 years and as a result my wrinkles have increased...thank goodness. We're almost natives from Tampa and of all the places we have visited over the past 40 plus years, this one is the best. Why? Brian and Katie, first of all, and then, "old Florida style"...step out of your room onto sand...not a hallway/elevator. The Australian pines and sea oats...the overall laid back feel of the place is what the beach is all about. The rooms are delightfully decorated, lots of beachy stuff...very comfortable. It has been a wondeful find for us, including Buck, our 8 year old 95 lb. white/yellow Lab, who considers it his home away from home. Our 2 year old granddaughter thinks its great...she's a little beach bum. Take it from a native who has grown up on these beaches, Beachside Palms is truly a place to relax and enjoy the beach in the "old style". Thank you Brian and Katie. See you in September. "Got my toes in the water, my [--] in the sand, not a worry in the world, a cold beer in my hand, life is good today"(Zac Brown Band) sums it up. Bruce J.

I have been returning to this area every year for the past 10 years as of May 2013! I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere but the Beachside Palms for my stay. Katie and Brian are a delightful couple that only want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. All the rooms are decorated with special little touches that you only get from a smaller more intimate property, which is exactly what you get here. Right on the beach they provide everything from chairs, cabanas, umbrellas, and coolers. You have to bring your own bathing suit and sunscreen! Everything else is here!!! Just returned from my vacation last week and already have the 2014 calander open to book for next year!!

Room Tip: All rooms are great, some larger than others but space is used in a very smart and effecient way.

If we return to the Tampa/St. Pete area of Florida in the future we know where to stay, hands down! This was our first rental experience here, and all of the commentary is delightfully true. The quaint rooms are decorated in a welcoming "at-home" feel, the bathroom is well-stocked with soft towels matching that room's decor, and the in-room kitchenette boasts pots, pans, silverware, 'frig, sink and stove! We loved the fact that we could use the honor system to do laundry for a nominal fee; we donated our laundry soap when we left. Sure enough, the daily paper arrived on our doorstep! The neighborhood is good; no worries. You really get the sense that you are on a barrier island when you look left outside the doorstep across the street and see the bay, and look to the right past the end of the motel and see the Gulf. Fine, fine white sand beach. Tropical storm Debby made herself a bad hostess while we were there, but we held the fort, and all things considered, we had quite the vacation! Thank you, thank you to our personable host & hostess!

I ditto what everyone else has already said: this place is terrific. Has an authentic vintage Florida motel feel to it, in the best possible way. The owners have done a fabulous job outfitting each unit with anything and everything you might possible need for your stay. This was my first visit to this part of FL, and it won't be the last - and when I come back, I'm staying here again!

A traveler tip: you can take the trolley, but you can also use 2 free transportation services. The drives work for tips and it is safe and reliable. Service extends from Pass-a-grille up past Treasure Island.

Room Tip: Traveler Palm is the unit closest to the busy street. Although it wasn't awful, I think I'd...

We've gone back several years & we always know what to expect. Clean, convenient, laundry, extra linens, daily paper at the door before we get up. We don't have a car & use the trolley system & can go most places we want. We walk to Publix a couple at of blocks away for groceries since we do a lot of our meals in our unit. Brian & Katie are quick to respond if we need something. We've reserved our room for 2013. The best place on the beach!
