Just spent a week at Arvilla Motel and loved the family type atmosphere. The motel brought back fond memories of family vacations. It had very clean rooms and property. Pool is cleaned daily and the grounds.
Our family had 3 rooms, 2 were small efficiencies and the 3rd had 2 rooms. The small kitchens had everything except food and paper goods. If you want to wash dishes bring dish soap. We also brought hand and bath soap, but that is how we travel.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. A/C was a wall unit so if you are not used to that it may sound noisy. Beds were comfortable. Our only suggestion for the bathroom would be to upgrade the shower heads for better pressure. If you like art deco and are a baby boomer the bath tile will bring back memories.
Arvilla is set back from the beach, as all the motels close by are, so there is about a five minute walk to get to the water. There are chairs and umbrellas that can be rented on the beach by an independent company.
Arvilla's pool is a nice size and they have tubes, floats and noodles to use. The motel is within walking distance to restaurants and a short drive to others.
There is also a wonderful concrete walkway behind the motel, before the beach, that is about a mile to a mile and a half.
The motel was quiet, with very friendly staff and guests.
Our family enjoyed our week very much, and look forward to returning.

Great Hotel! We couldn’t have asked for a better location on the beach. It was private, yet in the middle and walking distance to top restaurants, shops and attractions. The room was exceptionally clean and set up to support all of our needs, to include an extended stay. The bed was very comfortable and actually gave me a better night’s sleep than the one I own at home. It was a quiet and peaceful atmosphere around the grounds, a perfect haven. I loved to sit out in the morning and enjoy my cup of coffee. The staff was professional and attentive, they immediately welcomed us and made us feel at home.A perfect place on the beach, we will defiantly be back!

The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful about places to eat and things to see. We had adjoining rooms that were very clean (old, but clean) and the hotel was right on the beach. The pool was wonderful-even have floats and toys to use. The beds in our rooms were not comfortable - almost slept on the floor after 2 nights. Air conditioner was very loud. The parking is tough - a large truck would be difficult to fit - if the hotel was at capacity. If you like to swim at night, you won't be able to do so - pool closes at dusk. With this said, you didn't have to worry about late night parties which is a plus if you have small children trying to sleep.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for a room with a full kitchen. The efficiencies do not have an oven and only two...

Arvilla is a great place to vacation. Quiet and clean! Will definitely be back! Plenty of places in walking distance like Ricky T's, CJ's and VIP's. Clean pool and grounds were perfect. Not the most updated but it was homey and unique, very comfortable!

Room Tip: Any room is a good room

It was our first "Girls Need a Break Weekend" and we chose Arvilla based on the reviews and the 3 of us were not disappointed. The large effiency was great, bed was supper comfortable, immaculately clean and the staff very professional and nice. Though we did not use the pool, it was very clean and they lock the gates at dark. Very Very Very nice.
We will be back.

1 comment-they need a new coffee pot -- the thing took forever to make the coffee.

My husband and I stayed here for our 5th anniversary in March with our 18 month old daughter. The location is about all it has going for it. It is very old and in need of lots of renovations. There are window A/C units in the rooms that blow around humidity, not cool air. We woke up in the morning feeling like we were misted on. The hot water did not work to take showers so we told the manager and he had to relight the hot water heater...45 minutes of sitting in a towel we were able to shower. The pool says it is heated but it is not warm enough to get into. My toddler was shivering. All rooms face the pool and are perpendicular to the beach so you can't even count on a nice view. Treasure Island is such a nice area, it's unfortunate that the older motels such as this can't step it up a little and renovate if they value their location. I trusted Trip Advisors rating of #1 on this motel and was very disappointed. I will definitely pay more for a nicer place next time. I hope this review helps...we go to the beach about every other weekend from the months of March thru October and always look for new, reasonable places instead of staying in the same place each time. I depend on the reviews and ratings to make my decision.

The Arvilla is in a great location right on the beach. It was easy to find and is in walking distance to restaurants. I think there is other stuff in walking distance but we were only there overnight so didn't take advantage. The room was small but clean and had everything you need for an overnight stay. There was complimentary coffee in the morning. It is a good basic property in a great location. I'd stay here again.
