Ok , I really am not hard to please and neither is my husband. We love value in hotels and not alot of extras. We spent a week in Orlando so we only had four days to spend in Treasure Island which is a vacation spot I have gone to since I was a kid. We didn't want to spend several hundred dollars for a hotel on spring break so we figured this was a great place and had some good reviews so we booked it. Parking is HORRIBLE but we did read that on here so we weren't surprised but it was worse than was said on here. The front desk said they had MANY vacancies and the parking was horrible, when full the parking would be unbearable for me. At check in we had a very nice younger man check us in, great first impression but the women were horrible. He was the nicest staff member we met our entire stay. We had a gulfview poolfront king efficiency on the second floor....room 115 i believe. Right above the pool which does get very NOISY. I was sick one day and the noise woke me up, couldn't imagne being on first floor next to it. First problem we encountered was how small the balcony is to walk on to get to your room on second floor. If there are people on the balcony you will not be able to pass them. There were some really loud and rude people staying there who acted like if they sucked in their bellies we would be able to walk through with large suitcases. We couldn't make it and the told us to find another route because they were partying! I thought it said no parties allowed but these people drank loads and were loud ALL night. My husband ran over a very rude man with the wheels of our luggage because he wouldn't move. We got to out room finally. It was decent. Small but enough space for two, with kids it would be pushing it I think but it was quaint. Bed was old and uncomfortable but not horrible and I have a bad back. Bathroom was a little smallt oo but clean. Kitchenette was nice as well. The tip envelope in our room said our maid was named lisa, ihave saw good things about her on here, we never met her but she was not great to us. One thing is they make you sign out towels. You HAVE to return them to the front and can't leave them for the maid. That is fine but our maid took our from our room and we were charged twenty dollars for each of our four towels. We were going to leave til they agreed to take the charge off when the maid said she did indeed take our towels. They are different from the room towels so I am not sure how there was confusion. The second day we came back to find our room was not touched at all. Bed was not made, no clean towels, no trash emptied. We called to the office and they say well did you tip the maid? My husband has never been so mad in his life. He told him he did not have to tip to have basic needs met and that technically in this country you tip at the end of the service not before. Well nevertheless we never got mad service the whole time so no tip was needed from our end. Pool was always crowded with kids, which is great if you have kids. The whole time we had to deal with loud and rude neighbors who wouldn't let us walk past them to leave our room. Beach was close and not crowded which was great, water was very cold this time of year but it was nice not to deal with crowds. Great restaurants close to the hotel. We asked for an hour later check out and were basically yelled at by some older woman at the front desk. Also she tore our heads off when we asked where our parents could park while visiting and said we coul not have guests. I threw a fit about our neighbors and eventually she "let" our parens visit. The guy was great but every other staff member was rude and bossy. Neighbors seemed to have no class which I am sure this price point appeals to them. It wasn't horrible for a place to keep your things and lay your head at night, but unless they call me and offer me some sort of gift for all the hell we went through I do not plan on returnoing with our kids for a vacation here, we will opt for the condos next door.
