I really loved our room with a ocean view. The beach is the best I have been to especially for the kids hardly any waves. The pool area was great. My only issue is no housekeeping and upon arrival I did notice crumbs on the floor & sticky draws. Don't expect towels to be replaced daily either.

Very clean rooms. Everything you need for your stay. Recently had our family reunion at the Sunset Vista Beachfront hotel. Everyone was very helpful to us in find out where the best places to eat and the beach view was the best I have seen. Thanks to Oliver for helping us set up the vacation. If you want a first class lace to visit in Treasure Island FL, This is the place to be.

Room Tip: Three different beach views to chose from, I like the full beach view. Enjoy the sunsets from the ba...

Spent 5 nights here. The place was great. It was a true 2 bedroom condo with awesome gulf front views. The staff was incredible. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. It is located close to Joh's Pass where there are lots of shops & restaurants. The beach is fantastic and not crowded at all. They have a huge pool as well as a kiddie pool. Another huge plus to this hotel is assigned covered parking!

Room Tip: I would highly recommend a gulf front unit even though the gulf rooms looked like they would have gr...

We just returned from staying in a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom top floor "penthouse" unit at Sunset Vistas. The gulf front view was beautiful, the unit was beautiful, the staff was friendly and the beach wasn't overcrowded but it was honestly too expensive considering our experience. (Final tally: $468/night).

There were some housekeeping issues but we didn't let them ruin our visit. The master bathroom shower was moldy (see photos) so we cleaned it ourselves. Lots of other people's hair and crumbs in the bathroom and closet drawers, but again we cleaned those ourselves. For $468/night we shouldn't have had to clean anything upon check-in. I guess the most unsettling housekeeping issue we encountered was finding a black bra behind the dresser in one of the bedrooms. We were moving the dresser over to make room for our toddler's crib and there it was: a black, strapless bra with sequins (see photo). I put a garbage bag over my hand and carried it to the trash. Definitely not a pleasant experience but it had to be done.

The power went out in the hotel for about 45 minutes one day. When I called the front desk the woman said she had no idea when it would be back on and there was nothing they could do about it. Not really what you want to hear. We watched the temps rise in our unit but before we really started to panic the power came back on. Just thankful we weren't in the elevator.

There was a large family reunion going on during our first night at the hotel. The party carried on until about 3 am under our balcony. Even though we were on the top floor we could hear every rendition of 99 bottles of beer on the wall, various show tunes, arguments and laughter. The pool closes at 10 pm nightly, but the party goes on all night on the patios next to the pool and in the outside bar. We turned on the bathroom fan most nights to block the noise, not a huge deal but if you want to chill on your balcony be prepared for the party below.

There were a LOT of kids at this hotel, screaming, crying kids. Everywhere. Lots of toys, floats, etc. everywhere. If you're going to relax you'll want to avoid the pools. Just go to the beach and plant your lounger away from the hotel.

The beach is gorgeous and not too crowded. The gulf front view is awe-inspiring. The unit was amazing, spacious and tastefully decorated. The frozen drinks in the outside bar were delicious and the service and servers in the bar & cafe were very attentive and friendly. Front desk service upon check-in was great. Plenty of towels, linens, pillows and Bath & Body Works toiletries.

Minus the random bra, mold and noise - we would return for that view alone. We may have just checked in at a bad time but the place has potential to be pretty amazing.

Room Tip: Go for the gulf front, you'll be very happy.

This was the first time at this resort, but second time visiting Treasure Island. We love this area and knew that we wanted to celebrate our 20th on the beach. We loved our 2 bedroom suite with 2 bathrooms that was a bonus when getting ready to go out. The suite was very clean and we loved the view of the gulf from the balcony. I wish that you could choose your room when you reserved, but you have to wait until you get there to get your actuall room #. We knew only that we were getting a partial gulf view, so we were worried that we would be overlooking the parking lot. We really lucked out and got a great end room on the 5th floor overlooking the back lawn and kids' pool. If you are looking for a party resort then don't choose Sunset Vistas. We loved the family atmosphere and quietness. We never had a problem sleeping at all because the rooms were so quiet. The beach was so close compared to other resorts on the stretch. We went to WalMart and bought beach chairs for $15 and a cheap beach umbrella instead of renting them each day and it worked out great. It's $30 a day to rent 2 loungers and an umbrella. Always check the box before the beach to see what people have left behind. If you want to walk to a restaurant it will be about a mile. We walked to John's Pass one night and the distance wasn't too bad. They have some good restaurants and bars there. I would recommend driving up to Clearwater and visiting Pier 60 in the evening when they have street performers, vendors and awesome sunsets- lots of fun! The surf shop there is huge with tons of beach clothing. You can also take cruises out of Clearwater. We took the Calypso Queen out for a lunch cruise. You will not be disappointed with this resort and it's within driving distance to everything. OH, and visit the Shake Shop right next door. They have the best shakes and malts ever with tons of flavors to choose from. We definitely will be back with our kids the next time.

Room Tip: Choose a higher floor room with a partial gulf view because you pay less then full view and still gr...

We've been to this resort multiple times and it is always a great stay, especially if you have young children and are looking to relax. Beautiful pool and when your ready for the beach you cross about a 20' walk and your on the beautiful never crowded white sand beach. The staff is helpful and courteous, the cafe has good food and is great for ordering breakfast in or a poolside snack or lunch. The condo style rooms are very well kept and it always helps to have a washer and dryer in your unit.
