We usually stay at condos down the beach. This was our first stay at the Bilmar. We upgraded to room 313, a deluxe studio with a king bed. We had a full size fridge, breakfast bar, microwave and two burner stove. The unit was upgraded and was oceanfront. We had drinks and food at Sloppy Joe's along with breakfast at Bazzie's Beach Bar both mornings. What could be better than eating while looking at the amazing view of the ocean. With your stay you get to use kayaks or paddle boards for an hour each day. They Bilmar provides a chair for you to use on the beach. It's the type of chair that allows you to sit up of lay flat while bending your knees. You can not put your feet up. Vendors on the beach rent two loungers plus an umbrella for $30/day. There is a wonderful place called Scoops to get ice cream. It's next to the place to get snow cones. Our two night stay made us feel like we were there for a week.

Room Tip: Make sure you get an upgraded room with an ocean view. We saw a room where the queen bed took up the entire room. We loved 313.

We had a great time at the Bilmar.I was there for 3 days in June with my girlfriend, her 12 yr old daughter, and my 17 yr old stepdaughter. This hotel is in a great location in Treasure Island. The beach is huge and clean, the water was very warm and dolphins were everywhere. Both pools were nice and clean as well.Rooms were big enough for us all and very clean as well. There is a Sloppy Joes on location with good food and the convenience of Walgreens directly across the street was a huge plus.John's Pass was within walking distance and a nice place to walk the waterfront. We rented jet ski's one day and that was a blast to ride in the ocean.I highly recommend this!.The only negative I would say is the added resort fee they have now of $15 a day and the very slow breakfast service at Brazzers. But overall we would go back again for sure!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a room with a balcony. The view of the ocean is always a plus!

We stayed at Bilmar Beach resort for the first time. My entire family loved it. All of the staff were great. Our housekeeper Lisa was the best! We ate at Bazzies and Sloppy Joes. Bazzies was very good but Sloppy Joes not so much. We had dinner there and ended up having to go somewhere else for the food was not very good. I love the location of the resort, pretty much in the middle of everything. The only thing that we were not thrilled about is that we were on the 4th floor in room 439 and had no balcony. We will be back for sure on our next trip to Treasure Island!

We and the wedding party for our son's wedding were booked at the BilMar for 2 nights. Upon arrival we were "greeted" by the rudest desk clerk we have yet to encounter. Not only us, but she was rude to everyone checking in. I must admit though that her attitude was the butt of many jokes during our stay. After being insulted at the front desk we went to our room and found it to be very clean and hot. We immediately turned on the A/C to cool down a bit. The view from our large window was beautiful. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the approximately 1/4 mile walk across the ultra wide beach to get to the ocean. An unusual feature that we enjoyed was that the motel provides beach towels for its guests ( of course you are charged for them if you fail to return them ). You can also pay a $15 a day "resort fee" and receive the use of beach chairs and other small amenities. The resort proved to be a good choice for the wedding rehearsal, dinner and beach ceremony. We had prime rib ( as did most of our party ) for the wedding dinner. It was paper thin, tough, dry and without flavor. More like "mediocre rib' than prime rib...........There are two on-site restaurants, Bazzie's and Sloppy Joe's, which I will review separately. All in all, we had a pleasant time and most of the staff were courteous and friendly.

Dear HiDefRev,

Thank you for sharing your son’s wedding celebration at the Bilmar Beach Resort and I am glad your overall experience was pleasant. Please accept my sincere apology for the interaction you had with one of desk agents. We pride ourselves on our guest service and I will personally follow up on this issue. Our deep beach is a unique feature of Treasure Island and has us known for the peace and tranquility you get when at water’s edge versus the sound of the city, pool areas and restaurants guests experience at many of our neighboring beaches. I also apologize if the he towel exchange procedure provided as one of the 18 amenities included in the resort fee was unusual; we strive to maintain a full stock of the oversized beach towels and found this method very effective and convenient for most guests. I will also follow up on your comments regarding the quality of the prime rib served at the reception. Chef Ragan is known for his consistent quality and we will address your concern immediately. I appreciate you sharing your comments with your fellow travelers and look forward to reading your reviews of Sloppy Joe’s and Bazzie’s Beach Bar, our two on-site restaurants. We hope you and family return to the Bilmar Beach Resort and look forward to serving you in the future.
Best regards, Clyde Smith – General Manager

We are a local to the Bilmar Beach Resort and this was our first stay there. We were looking for a one-night getaway with a balcony on the Gulf and on site dining. We were very happy with our stay at the Bilmar. We stayed in room 741. Yes, it is an older hotel, but we will be back. We are including pictures of room 741, the views from the room and best of all - the sunset.

The beach is practically at the door, but it is expansive, so it is a walk to the water.

We were there July 6 - July 7 2014.
