What can I say about this hotel...it's on the beach, the view is beautiful from the rooms, and it's close to shopping and restaurants. The room was very clean and comfortable. I wish that I didn't have to leave. The only bad thing that I have to say about this place is that the outside doesn't match the inside, the parking could be better and you may hear your neighbors passing by because they're still having a good time when your trying to sleep. I would definitely come back.

We stayed at the BIlmar early June and we were very happy with the resort. It felt very uncrowded and quiet. We enjoyed the 2 pools and the 2 restaurants on the beach. Rooms were clean, only negative were the rooms were a little cramped with 4. We had a mini fridge and a micro w/ a toaster (all in one) which was very convenient for breakfast/snacks in the room. Overall great stay, we would definately recommend!

Bilmar was one of the cheapest hotels I could find near Treasure Island. The beds were comfortable, the room was quiet, and we loved eating at Bazzie's Beach Bar for breakfast and Sloppy Joes for dinner. Two pools to relax in and the beach was not crowded at all. You can even find your own sand dollars just below the sand's surface! We brought home about 20 of them. The only downside to this hotel was the parking! Ugh....on Friday night, especially. There is a valet service that parks cars for the restaurant, and they take up all the parking spots for the hotel. We arrived on Friday and had left to get groceries, and couldn't find a spot ANYWHERE when we returned. Had to park a block away and retrieve the car the next morning to find a spot near the hotel. Suggestion! Park your car and don't move it. Pay the extra for the trolley service and use it when you can.

Room Tip: Stayed in the Palms building. A bit of a walk from the main lobby, but they had private balconies a...

What a relaxing time on a white sand beach. The Hotel is a throwback but updated and fits the beach lifestyle. The 15 dollar daily fee gets you free internet, great beach chairs, bikes, pool towels.... not over priced. Kids under 12 get to eat for free for breakfast, and a fun welcome package upon arrival. Lots of things within walking distance, Walgreens, Publix, Surf Shop, restaurants. Beautiful sandbars for the little ones to walk on. Saw dolphins from the beach twice. We drove to Clearwater and we were very happy being away from the crowds. Would recommend going to Johns Pass. Miss it already.

24 hour Walgreens right across the street. Very centrally located. Couple miles from Johns Pass. My free ride will take u there for just a tip! There is a 15/day resort fee, but it's def worth it as it covers daily: 2 beach chairs, 1 hr of kayak and/or paddle boarding and bike riding! Great staff!! Very clean!

Room Tip: Great friendly staff! Hotel said ocean front, but it was just a window view, no balcony. Some rooms...

Dear AmieNicole,

The entire Bilmar Team thanks you for choosing our resort for your Treasure Island getaway. Your generous comments are greatly appreciated and we look forward to your next visit. Just a reminder that our Deluxe Studios and Gulf Front Efficiencies all have private a private balcony but our Shell Studio do not although they do have a view through large picture windows of beautiful TI Beach and our amazing sunsets. See you soon! Clyde Smith – General Manager

In general the hotel is not much to look at from the outside but is OK inside... the beach is nice and conveniently located in the "middle" of things to do.
PROs: Rooms in the tower are large enough for 2 adults and two kids and feels clean
Very large beach access
Convenient location with a walgreens (liquor store co-located) and publix very close
Plenty of parking
Kitchenette with utensils, dishes, pots, pans, cups and glasses, full size coffee maker
Nice hot water option for baths and showers
A/C works great and sliding window glass tinting cools room nicely
Nice Treasure Island walk way between the beach and hotels for general use
Hotel staff was generally nice with no problems
Very nice sunset views
CONS: Exterior hotel looks dated and old with yellow paint shades (no street appeal)
Resort fee of additional $15.00 per day not worth what you get.
Swimming pools do not look very clean (didn't use)
Umbrellas that are close to the beach are rented by 3rd party $30.00 per day
Hotel sunshades are fixed locations and too far away from the water (b y o umbrella)
Tower elevators are slow and very hot inside
Sloppy Joe's restaurant is overpriced and greasy food - there are better options near by

I would consider staying here again if nothing else of equal or better is available for the same price (including the resort fee).

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for choosing the Bilmar Beach Resort during your recent visit to Treasure Island. I am glad you enjoyed our great location and many of the features that have made the Bilmar the Landmark Resort of the area. While we continually upgrade our landscaping with seasonal plantings and keep a fresh coat of paint on our building we still enjoy the “retro” look of our 50 year “new” property. As you experienced we keep our guest rooms and amenities modern and to very high standards. I regret the amenities included with the $15 resort fee did not appeal to you more. With beach chairs, kayak use, movie night, lobby coffee & fruit water, parking, internet, $5 beach bar coupon and now even bicycles to use we believe it is a great value. We also have plans to add other activities seasonally like our All American Game day on July 4th with great family fun and prizes. I am also happy to report that we are making plans to upgrade our elevators including larger fans to make the trip up to our Deluxe Studios and 8th floor Penthouses more enjoyable. I also think you will find our new Sloppy Joe’s menu selections currently under review will make a visit back to our signature restaurant well worth the trip.
Thank you again for staying with us and for sharing your comments with fellow travelers. Best regards, Clyde Smith – General Manager

We stayed here because it was on Treasure Island, not far from Johns Pass, and on the ocean. The room was very nice and we slept well each night. The staff was very helpful. The restaurants were clean and the food good. The only thing we did not like was the ocean water was about a quarter of a mile walk from the hotel over the sand. The pools are nice but small.

Room Tip: Be advised not to get a pool view room on the first floor. The noise from the pool was a little dis...
