First time to Venice. Couldn't have picked a better place to stay. From a very nice room to all the amenities and staff. Right across the road is the beach and sunsets. It was like being in Key West ! Can't wait to go back.

First off, let me say that my wife and I are usually big chain hotel people. We want consistency and to know what we are getting. Venice does not have a lot of that so we gambled after reading reviews and chose this place. It was wonderful. I couldn't pick out anything that I could complain about. The location was great, the room was clean, breakfast was more than we expected. The location was not right on the beach but it was really only about 200 feet away. We found shark teeth on the beach and the beach wasn't crowded at all. We will definitely be coming back.

My sister was visiting from Maine. We decided to go on a stay vacation. We trravelled 55 mies to the beach with my two granddaughters ages 3 and 6 in tow. When we got to the room we were in love. Bright, cheerful, clean, and everything we needed was there. We didnt have to go out to eat cause we had a nice kitchenette which came in very handy when the kids were grumpy from a day at the beach. A walk acroos the street to the beach then a very shoort walk to the pool and hot tub. The staff are very friendly helpful and considerate. We were only going for one night but we ended up staying for 2. Thanks again for making our weekend a sucess!

Great place to stay, we stayed in late April for 2 nights. Frank the manager made us very welcome and great continental breakfast that you eat in the room or outside on the patio.
Washer and dryer on the premises and the hotel is far enough out of the busy part of Santa and the beach is about a 2 minute walk. Local buses run every 10 to 15 minutes across the road from the hotel and very cheap to use and the zoo is about 5 minute walk away.
Great place.

Enjoyed our stay here. Great location. Made it in time to see the beautiful sunset across the street. Rooms painted a very soft yellow. Lots of extras like water and snacks in lobby, microwave popcorn in room. Homemade muffins and fruit and yogurt for breakfast. Sharks teeth in a bowl in the lobby guests can take one and sharks teeth necklaces for kids. lots of small touches that made the price worth it. Also had sharks teeth baskets you can borrow which saved us from buying one. Went to Casperspen Bch had found a couple doz teeth in a couple hrs. It was very fun. Hope to come back someday with grandkids.

Overpriced ' luxury ' motel
Very disappointed
First time to the area, working our way from Naples north along the coast to Sarasota
The location is absolutely ideal, across the road from the beach, and walking distance from the historic part of Venice

This review is in no way pointed at the staff, as they were all very helpful and could not do enough

The main issues , bearing in mind that along our travels we have experienced lots if choice and some fantastic places, with overwhelming competition

Unfortunately the ' wooden ' motel type design of the structure makes it a very creaky, ' rickety rackety ' place, the walls are so thin, I spent the night listening to the guest next door snoring , then talking at 5.30 am, I could even hear them talk about there early flight time from
Tampa airport
We could also hear other guests walking around outside on the wooden planks , talking away as though they were at the end of my bed
At $200 per night, for a room facing the road, god knows how much the charge would be for a partial sea view that was on offer

we have just stayed at siesta key, for 2 nights, plenty of choice, equally ideal location , far better accommodation , for less dollars than the price of 1 night

To top the stay off, upon check-out, a $24 dollar sales tax, for 1 night, that was not mentioned on check in, was added to the bill, when contested, I was told, that is the charge for tourists , when I explained we own a home in Florida , the very apologetic lady , we could tell had not been trained with the reply , left a sour taste
Absolutely no problem paying any taxes or fees that are due, but I believe notification is fair and not an unacceptable request

Great shame , as the location is ideal, not even the very tasty muffins , would I say were worth $226 for 1 nights stay
