“What a gem of a place. The breakfast and lunch are SUPER”
Reviewed 29 January 2012

A very creative breakfast and lunch chef has been hired for this newly opened place. Very good food!! Highly recommend. Also their special Key Lime dessert is wonderful. The parmesan chicken sandwich is delicious. made with ground chicken. The breakfast omlete was wonderful. Try it! The staff is very friendly. This place is located right next to the old Vernanda Inn, which is now The Island Sun Inn. Corner of San Marco and Tamiami -- just south of the hospital.

“healthy and delicious breakfasts and lunches til 330 pm”
Reviewed 18 January 2012

looking for something different for breakfast or lunch? or maybe one of you wants breakfast and the other wants lunch. well, i have to say, this place is for you. not much is offered in venice that is healthy, delicious and fresh. tucked away on venice island across from venice hospital you will find what you are looking for. today i tried the fish tacos with home made chips. i also had a cup of baked potato soup with a dollop of sour cream, chopped green onion and sprinkle of cheddar cheese. chef alan changes the soup each day. they also offer a quiche of the day and a special or two. chef alan is a graduate of the culinary institute of america. man, can he cook! we are hoping dinner will be available soon. outdoor seating is available at a few tables. there are a few tables which can hold large groups of maybe 8-10 people. home made desserts are available and looked fresh and tasty. i was too full to try one.

“Blu' Island Bistro offers great food, excellent service and resonable prices.”
Reviewed 11 January 2012

The expression, "good things come in small packages," could apply to this intimate, little bistro. The menu offerings are definitely above average. An example...a breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon, carmalized onions, and arugula served on rosemary ciabatta bread. The food is excellent! The service is exceptional. The servers are attentive, and friendly. Last, but certainly not least, the prices are extremely reasonable. I highly recommend this little gem!!!!!
