This is my first stay at the Villas but I will be staying there again. It is an awesome place, clean, close to everything, affordable and the best place to stay in my opinion... The staff is extremely nice and accomadating...

This was my second time staying at the Venice Beach Villas. We had such a great time the first time we decided to do it again, and it was just as perfect.I love the location, just a short walk to the beautiful Venice Beach and the shopping center. We traveled with teenagers and a ten year old and there was plenty of activities to keep them busy. Our villa was clean and very comfortable and the children loved the heated pool.

Great location within casual strolling distance to restaurants/shops/ farmers market on Saturday a.m., neat amenities and very friendly and accommodating staff/owners. The only advice I would share for newbies is bring your own pillows. We will definitely stay here next time we are near Venice.

I admit, I was a little apprehensive pulling up to the small cinder block buildings on Mendenez Street. The grounds were lavishly gardened, and the building very clean, well maintained, and neat as a pin, though. We entered our rental unit and were surprised by how roomy and well furnished it was. Everything was perfectly clean. Our unit had two bedrooms, both were plenty large and had plenty of closet and dresser storage. The kitchen had all necessary eating and cooking supplies, even a dishwasher. Some necessities not commonly found at much more expensive condos were included. On the grounds are three very nice grills (which we used daily), and clean, very nice pool, and a small shed with washer and dryer (coin, but detergent was supplied). Also in the shed were sand toys, floaties, strollers, sand sifters (finding shark teeth), clothing irons, steamers. Even a few coolers (very handy to pack a lunch on a day trip). There were also 5 or so decent bikes available on the property. Towels were supplied by the pool. There is also a media room, where you can borrow movies, books or use the computer and printer. Wireless internet is also readily available.

The street is very quiet, and has a park located 1/2 a block away. The beach is kind of a healthy walk for young children (ours are almost 2, 5, and 7) but, if it was on the beach the rental rates would be twice as much.

At the rental office, the staff made it clear we could call anytime, day or night if we needed anything. A cleaning crew came trough daily to wash the pool towels, sweep and sidewalks and pool area, and do general tidying.

Overall, I was very impressed with our stay. No this isn't a high rise condo, with picturesque gulf views. If it was, it wouldn't be so affordable. This condo was perfect for our family. The only thing I can think of the we could have used, that wasn't already available on site, was a child's size bike or trailer to pull children in. But, obviously that isn't an expected necessity.

We were looking for a place to stay that was affordable, clean, and convenient, and we found this and more at Venice Beach Villas. Not only were the rooms affordable and clean, but the hotel offered additional amenities that were beyond thoughtful! Bikes, towels, beach chairs, a pool, pool towels, internet access, movies to watch, games to play, books to read and grills with patio furniture were all available and FREE to us. My husband and I truly enjoyed these features and were beyond happy with all of these amenities and more!

We were very disappointed with this hotel. First off, the rooms are old, very old. The bathroom was horrible, small, and uncomfortable and the shower was the worst I ever experienced in a hotel and we travel alot. Also, they do not supply you with shampoo so bring your own. The soap they supplied was Irish Spring which is so strong and irritating. Women would definitely not want to use this soap. The bed was very uncomfortable and I had a back and neck ache for the two nights that I slept on the bed. As soon as we walked into our room we were hit with a smell of chlorine that literally made me sick. I know they try to clean the rooms after each use but this was awful. It took two days to get rid of that smell. We had to leave the windows open in 89 degree weather to try to rid the room of the smell. The air conditioner was old and looked broken down in the wall and sounded like it was going to blow at any minute. The pool area was very small but heated which was nice. When checking out we asked if we could have a little extra time for an important reason and they were not at all accommodating. This hotel is definitely no frills. I would never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We feel we provide good value given our location and facilities and our pricing is comparable to similar properties in the area but it seems we fell short in your case. We sincerely apologize.

We stayed for 3 nights in the "small 2br unit" in Venice Ave, with our 11 and 14 yr old children as the owners did not have any bigger units available.
Our family had a lovely time, although for 4 people it is rather a tight fit . This unit is a bit dated in places, but well kept and very clean and the price is very good for the area. The owners are very friendly and helpful.
The pool is lovely, clean and warm and it was always empty, which we enjoyed after a busy week in Orlando.
We used the BBQ area one evening which was fun and had a fabulous Pizza at the Soda Fountain, 5 mins walk away on our last night.
The walk to the beach is about 7 mins and we found some lovely shells and Shark Teeth.
We also visited Myakka River State Park from here and just being 35 mins drive we would thoroughly recommend it to everybody.
All in all an authentic little place, with lots of returning guests, in a great location. If we could secure a big 2BR unit upstairs (the ceilings are not soundproof), we would happily come back here anytime.
