“Disney's "Mickey Mouse" policy on wi-fi internet service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

Don't stay here if you plan to use your computer without an exorbitant fee to do so. At almost any motel, hotel, fast food joint, etc. today, you can use your computer free of charge taking advantage of the free Wi-Fi internet service offered at each of these places. NOT SO AT THIS RESORT! In their brochures, they state that Wi-Fi internet service is available to guests, but conveniently leave out the sentence to tell you that it is not free (unless you are a "Disney Vacation Club" member). If you are a paying guest, paying a premium price to stay there, when you check in you learn from the check-in material that the Wi-Fi internet service is not free, but instead carries a steep $10.00 daily fee to use. What a rip-off !! As I said in the title of this review, what a "Mickey Mouse" policy to gouge paying guests. While the facility itself is nice, the restaurants on site are pricey and it's a 7 to 10 mile drive into the town of Vero Beach if you want to go out elsewhere to eat. Same thing if you need to find a free Wi-Fi location -- the McDonalds in Vero Beach is at least 10 miles away which means burning up almost as much in gas as you would save by not paying for something that is free almost everywhere except at this resort. There are too many other places to stay in the Vero Beach area that are just as nice if not nicer than this place that offer free Wi-Fi as well as cheaper rates and much more reasonable places to eat for me to ever go back to this resort in the future. Since we travel to Vero Beach quite often, their loss of our business will be a gain for one of the other resorts or hotels in the area !!

Room Tip: Don't stay here -- go someplace else where they won't gouge you on "hidden" fees...

Disney's Vero Beach resort is off the beaten path of most Disney places and is a wonderful place to go to relax with the family. We have stayed here many times, and are never disappointed. We stayed in a one bedroom villa that had some beautiful pool and ocean views. Full kitchen, king size bed, queen pull-out couch and a twin pull-out chair were in the room. TV was a bit outdated, but really we were not there to watch the tube.

Pool was not too crowded and was spotless. The staff was oh-so friendly and very helpful. Kids loved the lighthouse slide and the interactive games played by the djs. The beach was beautiful. The ocean was a bit chilly in mid-May, but the warm sand and sun made for a wonderfully relaxing time.

The restaurants were very kid-friendly but there was an adult option as well. Plenty of activities for the kids to do both day and night while the adults enjoy some alone time. Outside dining is about 15 minutes away.

We will be visiting again. Thanks Disney!

Room Tip: You can always request an ocean view room, but no guarantees. Upper floors tend to provide better vi...

This is a laid back place
Beautiful location away from it all" not a lot going on but that's the idea "if your lucky enough to stay in one of the beach cottage's you will have a breathtaking view of the ocean and a massive area to stay in .
A hidden disney gem downside as with some disney hotels they need updating highly recommend

We came here following four days at Disney World where we stayed at Bay Lake Tower which was very nice. Vero Beach- not so much. Rooms are not very clean and all the finishes are tired and worn. We're vacation club members and typically get a two bedroom unit for our family of 5. At Vero Beach that means no ocean view. We have a first floor view of the parking lot. Dining choices are average so tomorrow night we're leaving the property for a nice dinner elsewhere. The lobby is beautiful (and really who cares about that) and the pool is nice as well. Here's something that's very Disney... they charge for everything (chaise lounge chairs on the beach, mini golf, coffee, etc.) Its such a small thing but I like a hotel that offers coffee in the lobby. I love our Vacation Club membership, just not this property. We probably wont be back since there are unlimited beach choices elsewhere.

Everything was great, as expected with Disney. Rooms were normal, nothing spectacular, but nice and clean. The service was wonderful and everyone was super nice - from the waiters to the lifeguards. Special shout out to the activities coordinators, lots for the kids to do and they really know how to make it fun. I thought the pool and kids water playground could have been a little bigger - it tended to get crowded midday - but still worked out fine. As a DVC member, this was a typical, nice Disney resort and I would definitely go back again in the future with the family.

Room Tip: I loved our room because it overlooked both the pool and the ocean. It was booked as a Inn - Ocean...

There was nothing Disney about the hotel, except one mural behind the check in desk. The rest of the interior hotel looked liked my grandmothers house..... I also noticed an odor upon arrival. I could not pin point it until we entered our actual room. Mildew- masked by some sort of perfumey something or other. My two year old was covering her nose and wanted to get out fast! Our room was clean, persey, with what the housekeepers need to work with.... Our bathroom tile was bright pink and green, and again, nothing Disney in the rooms.
On the plus side, the staff was great, the pool area was one of the most kid friendly I have ever seen, and we thought the food was very reasonably priced.
However, I would not stay here again.

This resort is Great. Located away from high traffic beach areas you feel as if you have the entire beach to yourself. We rented beach chairs and an umbrella each day of our trip. At busy times get there early to reserve your spot. We have stayed there several times in both non-ocean view and ocean view rooms. The rooms by Disney standards are average but adequate for our family. The pool is wonderful and quiet in the early morning hours but the crowds pick up as the day goes on. The biggest plus for us id Location. Located on A1A. You can go to Vero Beach (south) or Sebastian (north). Both areas have Wal-Mart, Target and Publix. We have not ate at the onsite restaurants but there is an nice little pizza place across the street that is in walking distance. There are also several nice local seafood places in Sebastian. Overall this is one of my wife's favorite resorts. It is about two hours to Walt Disney World by car.
