High quality, low key, with plenty of family activities if you want to join in. This is a world class facility. The staff (cast members) are simply the best anywhere. If you need lots of high energy activities, amusement parks, busy, hustling beach activity (like Panama City or central Myrtle Beach) - you probably won't be as happy here. The beach front is beautiful and mostly quiet. The pool includes a hot tub and a water slide along with water active kids play areas. This area can be noisy and active during the day (pool side party, games, etc.) - but the activities are fun and funny and, well, Disney! You can rent bikes, there is tennis, mini-golf, basketball, archery and more, but all done with Disney style. You can stay busy or just read by the beach. This resort is heavily involved in Sea Turtle conservation and you can go on a guided night walk to see nesting sea turtles - this was an incredible experience!!!

On site food offerings are a bit pricey but you can have a burger and a beer (if you like) on a fan cooled porch looking out at the ocean. There are plenty of other food options a short drive away. The rooms are clean and the facility is beautiful. You can get rooms for 2 all the way up to a three bedroom ocean front cottage. You can also share a meal with Goofy and Donald Duck. We LOVE this place and will be coming back for years to come.

Room Tip: There are not a lot of rooms with an ocean view - if you want to make sure you have a view get an &q...

As always, Disney resorts don't disappoint for families looking for a safe, fun place to vacation. We have stayed at a number of the resorts, both on and off site. My favorite is Hilton Head, but Vero is a close second. The big advantage of the Vero site is the direct beach access! Beautiful ocean views from the Green Cabin Restaurant- a must visit while you stay here. The only downsides were: the room we were in was due for a paint job/bathroom makeover, but it certainly wasn't terrible; poor cell coverage and you have to ay for wifi; and you need a car and have to drive at least 10 minutes to reach outside restaurants etc.

Room Tip: We recommend booking building 14 or the main building, if you can't get a cabin. Not many ocean...

Our family had a great stay at Disney's Vero Beach Resort. The resort is beautifully landscaped with lush foliage and the rooms are clean and perfectly decorated. Lots of activities for the kids to participate in by the pool. And if it rains they just get moved inside...the fun never stops! The campfire (mon, wed, fri, sat) with s'mores and singalong was fun.

On Monday evenings they have their pirate dinner at Shutters with Donald and Goofy. It's served family style with meats, chicken, corn on the cob, mac n cheese, beans and corn bread. We enjoyed our experience with the characters...they were more than happy to take time with each child. Since we had a full kitchen in our villa we chose to have most of our meals at "home". This was great in that we normally timed our dinner on the afternoon rain that inevitably hit and closed the pool. We would go back to the villa, relax, have some dinner and then by the time we were done the rain would be over. We could go back to the pool for some nighttime swimming (the pool is open till 10pm), take a walk on the beach or head to the campfire etc.

Bleachers was great...poolside for drinks, food and snacks. They have Dole Whip here!!!! Eb @ Flo's is the recreational heart of the resort. Here is where you register for activities and borrow pool toys and board games. This is where you get clubs for mini golf (minimal fee), basketballs, equipment needed for shuffle board, billiards and ping pong. We registered the kids for Fishing FUNdamentals ($30 a person)...they get a fishing pole to keep, learn to tie knots and then fish in the pond. They also offer a kids night a few nights a week from 5-8 if mom and dad want to have a solo dinner :)

The store in the main building (Island Grove Packing Co) had all the necessities like sunglasses, sand toys, first aid and sun block. But also had lots of fun Disney merchandise...pins, vinylmation, housewares, clothing and snacks. They have pin trading here and have a good assortment of DVDs to rent. This is also where you can pick up some basic grocery items.

The beach is on the smaller side but was never crowded. Great for looking for seashells but with that the sand is not very easy to walk on in bare feet due to the amount of broken shells. We made sure to have the kids in water shoes to avoid cuts on their feet. Umbrellas, lounge chairs and water activities available to rent for a fee. We brought our own umbrella and chairs and were able to use them no problem. I loved that anywhere you walked around the resort you could hear the waves...even if you could not see them. There is a lot of foliage that blocks the light from the resort from hitting the beach. There were many turtle nests on the beach and the light is blocked to not interfere with the turtles nesting process. Really interesting to learn all about the turtles over the week.

This resort is really for relaxation and not the typical go go go of Disney...so I warn not to expect that when visiting. The only downside is that there is really no beach town surrounding the resort. Many restaurants and Publix (the supermarket) are a drive away. We ate at a cute little place called Mr Manatees the night we arrived in Vero Beach. Good food and on Sunday nights kids eat free...bonus!!

This is a great resort to add a few days to relax at the end of a Walt Disney World trip. I personally like Disney's Hilton Head Island resort better. But that is not to say we did not love our time here. The resort is wonderful and everyone is super friendly. Pack lots of sunscreen and bug spray. We will be back and I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a family friendly beach vacation.

I've stayed at several studio rooms at other Disney resorts, which were fine(double queen beds, etc), but this is awful. If you want to stay in a closet then book the deluxe studio with one full size bed and one pillow for the tiny pull out bed. I booked this room under the impression that 4 people could stay here comfortably(what a joke). The front desk was very un-helpful when I requested if something could be done. They kept saying for the same amount of points I could have stayed at a larger room. Not helpful for what I was asking for at the time. I can say that I will never book at this resort again. I am a dvc member and I can tell you that dvc will hear about this.

This is a great spot. The resort has a private beach with many toys available for a price. It is turtle territory, so June/July will see turtle nests up and down the beach. The turtles only come ashore at night, so you won't likely see any. The waves are large there, especially if there is a storm brewing offshore (we were there when Hurricane Arthur was forming sixty miles offshore). The food in the restaurants is OK, but a bit bland and mass produced. Go into town for a meal. if you have kids, the character dinner is a must if you are there on Pirate Night. The pools is very nice and there are a ton of activities for the kids. The deck chairs with umbrellas go fast in the morning with people putting a towel on a chair and going back to their room or off to breakfast. They have signs saying they will remove these towels, but they don't. I recommend an ocean-view room. Be careful to ask for a full-on ocean view or you might be overlooking the pool with the ocean off to one side. They still term it ocean-view. Well appointed rooms. Very comfortable.

Our family stayed in one of the resort's beach houses, which has three bedrooms and a large living space and kitchen upstairs. I'm not sure what the nightly fee would be; my family rented it through a time share program. The resort is right on the ocean and very relaxing. A good place to unwind. It's about two hours from Orlando. If you want to just get away and stay at a nice resort near the beach, this is a good spot.

Decided to spend out Thanksgiving holiday at Disney's Vero Beach last year for our first visit. We go to WDW often and since we have a child, we thought a mini Vero trip we be a great holiday escape. The resort was already decorated for Christmas on Thanksgiving and was beautiful. For the holiday, Donald and Santa Goofy were in the lobby taking photographs. It was a little too cool for the ocean, but we still enjoyed the beautiful pool and fun slide. Our 3yo loved the playground and pirate ship. Our villa studio was fine for 3 people and the room was in good repair and clean. The Cast Members were some of the kindest we've me at our Disney stays, and we absolutely loved the camp fire. We also drove down to Vero and explored a bit. Some cute shops and restaurants. We dined at Sonya' for dinner which was nice, but we enjoyed the character breakfast more on Saturday morning. The Thanksgiving dinner buffet had lots of options from standard T-day fair to seafood, pastas and more. We will definitely be back.
