My husband and I were looking for a "getaway" from all the daily life things. We stayed in Cottages #23 (perfect) and #21...they are totally equipped for anything imaginable. We sat in a hot tub at night and looked at the peaceful quiet scenery. Definetly going back again, again, and again :)

I stayed in one of the cottages in this small resort. It was fantastic. Absolutely first rate. I saw the other cottages as they were offered to me since they were not rented that weekend. They were all so beautiful inside.
It was a rainy weekend and I still had a wonderful stay. The pool area is beautiful with flowers all around, lovely trees and a short walk to the river's edge you can see a lovely view and water birds come right up to you. Highly recommended.

My husband and I have a small lot almost facing St John's River (ten minutes form WL&R). We go every couple of years to check on it! but we have always have stayed in Deland. This year I found WL&R! Amazing, we stayed in cottage #23. Clean, confortable with all the amenities of a home. We got some what lost and Jessica was terrific in getting us to the property! The view is fantastic, the bar is great so is Ian.

The property has such a good feeling, relax, non pretentious. So close to Miami and yet so different! Different in a wonderful way!

Great shower, great bed!Amazing sunset~

Jessica is welcoming, friendly and terrific~

We will be back! WL&R got under our skin~

Maria Gomez/Miami

Room Tip: For a couple #23 & #24, for a larger family the ones facing the river!, but actually they are all great!

We stayed in the Deluxe lakefront Cottage It was beautiful. The jacuzzi overlooking the lake was heaven. Jessica was awesome and answered all of our questions and made us feel at home. The cottage is huge and open concept (no bedrooms, one bathroom but plenty of space to sleep and relax). The kitchen was large and well equipped. We brought our boat and rented a covered slip, steps away from our cottage, for $5 per night. We took the boat to Salt Springs - it took about an hour each way. We ate dinner one night at Shrimps-R-Us, which was just around the corner. Bring your own groceries as there are not any nearby stores except convenience or dollar stores. The Welatka Lodge is the place to go for some intensive relaxing.

Get away from the city without having to travel very far! Great little cottages, very clean and comfortable. Everything seems brand new. Washer and dryer, fireplace for winter, hot tub, heated pool. Quaint little bar RIGHT on the rivers edge that serves food too. Very limited menu but fine... Dock your boat right at the hotel and enjoy the river. Short jaunt down the river to Silver Glen or Lake George. Not many restaurants and about 5 miles to family dollar store so bring supplies if cooking in.

Room Tip: Have 1 cabin right on the river. The others as a short walk away and right by the pool. All are quiet.
