Went to the zoo last week but had to leave as far too hot, though there is plenty of shade etc for younger people ( we are just getting a little older) Came back again this week as enjoyed it so much last week apart from the heat which I know is us and nothing to do with the zoo. Had a FABULOUS time and stayed for almost 4 hours. So many wonderful birds to take pictures of and just couldn't get enough of this place. We will be back often as it is a joy and real hidden treasure in West Palm Beach. I remember when it cost 25 cents to get in and all they had was Toppy the Elephant and a few monkeys. Yes I saved my stamp books to buy Toppy like all the rest of the people in West Palm Beach did. The Zoo has certainly grown and should be very proud. June.

We were planning to go to Lion Country Safari, but decided it was simply to far, so made a quick detour to the zoo. With our 2 year old in tow, we headed in... Overall, we enjoyed it. It's a small zoo, compared to the zoos we are used to in Chicago, but there was plenty to do and see. We even managed to avoid the splash pad, though it looked like fun. The zoo is pretty compact, with lots of shade, walking around. We saw lots of animals and enjoyed lunch in the cafe. It was air conditioned and simply nice to cool down for a bit. We'd go back.

Animal areas weren't setup well. I felt like there were repetitive animals throughout the zoo. We enjoyed seeing the bears and hearing the facts from the speaker. The tiger within this zoo seemed very agitated and avoided being in areas where people were.

We went to the Palm Beach Zoo back in March. I was so surprised by the size of the zoo. At first I thought we would get through it in about 45 minutes. Well 3 hours later we were walking out with smiles on our faces!

It was myself, husband, 11 month old boy, and grandmother. The zoo was a little tough to find but once we did we found parking easily. It was a little pricey but you get a lot for your money. The zoo had great animals but was crowded with people. I think because of the time of year we went it was more packed than usual. But we had no complaints in getting around.

They make it very stroller accessible, even through our boy wanted to be carried the entire time ;)

Follow the map or you will miss things since it has lots of twists and turns.

the only bad thing about the zoo would say would be the bathrooms. They only had one changing table and there was a line 4 children deep for it. Other than that the grounds were nice.

I always feel bad for the animals being in those cages, but that aside, it was a great afternoon adventure!

We love coming to the Palm Beach Zoo. A much smaller zoo than Miami, but the layout is better for small kids and they do have many of the bigger animals - alligators, panthers/jaguars, tigers, bears, kangaroos. No rhinos, elephants, or lions but the ease of getting around and staying in the shade is great. The price is right too - $65 for a family of two adults and two kids.
