We hired Chateau De Fayolle for our wedding weekend accomodating many guests there.

The Chateau is a rustic find that is full of characte and is situated in well kept grounds.

This is no 5 star hotel so do not expect the service.

Chateau De Fayolle is set in a beautiful part of the region and its rooms are finished tastefully to the eye.

The owners are keen to accomodate parties and weddings offering a range of services.

A lovely weekend was had by all!

A real gem, totally authentic feeling chateau with a few modern luxuries. We stayed three nights on our way down to Biarritz and after a long drive from Calais (about 7 hours) we were quickly settled in and enjoying the salt water pool. Definitely recommend a stay here.

Room Tip: Ask for a tower room or the garden room.

I stayed here with my girlfriend and 2 friends last July for a week and within hours of arriving the owners had us settled with a local 'pineau' drink on the front lawn relaxing from the long journey. It took no time at all to settle in to the spirit of the chateau which feels incredibly friendly. It's hard to explain. It's not like the chateaus you see in the Loire Valley it's more modest but with a French rural grandeur about it. It's just nice.

We walked the grounds, down and around the lake, read books, played ping pong, swam and ate loads of great food. My girlfriend is a painter and found plenty of inspiration, whilst the rest of us just relaxed.

Thanks to Gerry and Janet for making our stay just what we needed and we'll definitely be back if I ever get round to proposing.

We stayed 3 days at Chateau De Fayolle, and the owners were very welcoming after a long drive down through France. Drinks served on the terrace and a very french homely feel, made for a perfect start to our stay.

The owners are English, but have a fond connection with the area, so have made this Chateau very much in keeping with what one would expect from rural French location.
Rooms were great for us, at the time there was some renevation being done, so Im sure given the impression of the rest of the house, this would be finished to a nice standard.
Definately a place to stop if you are travelling through this lovely part of France !

Range of activities in the area : canoeing, walking, fishing so plenty of choices to keep you going

Chateau De Fayolle is a beautiful, authentic 16th Century house set in gorgeous green tranquil surroundings about 10 minutes from the town of Riberac in the Dordogne.
We came across the Chateau when we were looking for a wedding venue and it instantly won our hearts.
The house is extremely charming and welcoming inspite its age and has retained many of its original features. It is typically French which appealed to us as many of the other venues we looked at were modernised beyond recognition.
It is finished beautifully by its owners who you can tell have a real love affair with this property. It is grand but no so grand that you don't feel comfortable walking round it, or feel it's 'pretentious'.
The facilities are excellent too, with a gorgeous outdoor dining are and pool, stunning views and the piece de resistance (in our eyes) a small yet beautiful old chapel - it really is something special!
The owners of the property, Janet & Gerry, are equally as amazing as the house and really made our decision to marry there very easy. They are the perfect hosts and could not be more helpful, accommodating and welcoming.
I could not speak more highly of this place. If you are looking for the ultimate French experiance, we believe this is the place. There is just a feeling of warmth you get from the house and its owners and we just fell in love with it and knew this was the only venue for us. We would highly recommend it to anyone!!
