Great beach and definitely worth the trip if staying on Antigua. We stayed on the east end of the island so it was a 10 min drive for us. Pristine beach with crystal clear water. Nicest beach we have visited in the Caribbean! Plenty of trees at the north end of the bay for shade.

Fun beach for kids, some waves big enough to boogie board. Take a walk out to the rocky point, fun little tide pools for the kids to discover crabs, urchins, snails, also great spot for pictures. Little snack shack to grab an ice cream cone after a day at the beach.

There are lots of great beaches in Antigua but this is right up there. You can snorkel in the clear, calm waters at the north end, surf in the middle and look at the abandoned hotel at the south end.
No rubbish, plastic bottles or the like. A very useful beach cafe and bar as well, but otherwise wild and natural.

Beautiful half-moon shape, rocks to climb and an abandoned hotel to poke around in from a hurricane.

We love half moon bay and were pleased to see it is now classified as a park. There are quiet water parts, and wavy parts. The centre can be rough depending on the wind direction and time of year but it is always calmer in the tucked away behind the reef on the left side as you look out. There is a snack bar and a few beach vendors selling their wares in the parking lot. There is also a good reef to snorkel. The beach seems to be getting more popular with time. While about 40 mins from St. John's by car, it is well worth it for a day trip.
