“Good Tex-Mex - but skip the beans!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 December 2013

We went on a busy Friday night and the restaurant was bustling. However, we were shown to our table without delay and the service was prompt and courteous. I ordered the skirt steak street tacos, which were every bit as good as I have had in Tijuana. I ordered black beans and rice as an accompaniment, but they were a disappointment -- especially the black beans, which were bland and tasted as though they had just come out of a can. My wife ordered the veggie fajitas: lots of veggies, but she had the same comment about the accompanying rice and beans. However, I've rated the rest of the food as "Very good." The house margaritas are great, as is the Mexican beer on tap. The noise level was high, which made conversation a little difficult, partly because of the open-plan design. Not really conducive to a couples evening on a Friday night but fine for a special occasion with a larger party. We'll certainly come again - but on a quieter night, or with a group of friends.

“Service, Service, Service..........and GREAT Food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 November 2013

What more can one say about fine service, when a table is moved into an outdoor area so that our party may experience the fine weather and quiet charm of this ideal setting? I WILL always return! The bustling atmosphere of a successful Tex-Mex restaurant, with a fine bar scene, is always FUN! Still, it is wonderful to be able to hear yourself speak.......and talk to a European guest. Our visit this past weekend included a guest from Slovenia, who was visiting friends at Rollins College and had yet to experience one of Winter Park's more successful restaurants, COCINA 214. The charming manager moved our party out to the patio, fitted the table in himself, and proceeded to assist the young man who was our guest with the menu and selections he might enjoy. Needless to say, we were thrilled with this experience! Our Ceviche, Guacamole, Tacos, and classic Floridian inspired rock shrimp tostitoes was very special for this young man's last evening in our city. A stunning decanter with our sangria pitccher of drinks arrived immediately, and we were off to a happy time. As I have recommended this restaurant for friends' parties, receptions, and the like, it is still reassuring to find such Southern charm in this bustling restaurant. We were not merely on the outside, looking in; but we were experiencing some of the finest food and drink north of the border. Hurray for COCINA 214! We love you!

“Beautiful Mexican food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 November 2013 via mobile

We happened upon this place as we found a good parking space and it was raining - this was the closest restaurant when we had no umbrellas . My family and I are so happy we found it. The service was excellent. It was the best Mexican food I have ever eaten - fresh and no grease . My daughter had the skirt steak burrito and devoured it. I had the blackened fish tacos . My husband had fajitas made with monster shrimp stuffed with cheese and jalapeños with a side of their fresh habanero salsa . We left there over stuffed and very happy . Will definately make this a regular stop when visiting winter park.

“Good Mexican food & drink”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 October 2013

Just off Winter Park's Park Avenue the up-scale shopping district Cocina 214 is just a mile away from the Best Western Mt Vernon Inn. Can be a little loud inside but the outdoor dining is wonderful in the cooler weather

“Cold beer and good food”

The thing I really like about this place is the special iced-over beer tap that pours really cold Modelo beer. The food is good, too.
