Very Pretty on the outside but the rooms are no better than a 2 to 3 star motel and because the building is so old you can hear people using the bathroom. Good hotel for elderly but not for families also not disabled friendly.

Dear Robin537,

Thank you for your recent visit. We are a little surprised by your note regarding the age of The Alfond Inn, as we just opened in August of this year. Being a brand new building we are a state of the art accessibility facility. I do apologize if you were disappointed with your stay. I would appreciate the opportunity to chat with you, and look forward to hearing from you.

From the Heart,
Deanne Gabel

The newly opened Alfond Inn is a great place to stay if you are visiting Winter Park. The staff is friendly and helpful, the is building beautiful, and the rooms are very comfortable. We would definitely return to this hotel again. We did not eat in the hotel… there are so many dining choices within walking distance but perhaps we will in the future. I hope to stay at the Alfond again in 2014!

This is an excellent hotel. The building and decor is elegant but informal and quite inviting. The staff is wonderful and I believe genuine in their interest for your well being and needs. We only used the bar but the service, availability of drinks and the decor were all very nice. The restaurant looks beautiful but we did not eat there. Many others were there. Rooms are large and well furnished and equipped. Again, lovely but not overstated. The entire hotel is filled with great art - original works and not "truck" art.

Downtown Winter Park, Rollins and the Morse Museum are all walkable. Numerous good restaurants are very close.

Parking is valet but the service is prompt and not overpriced ($18 per day). Street parking is mostly limited to a few hours so valet is a good choice.

You will like this hotel a great deal.

Room Tip: One side of the hotel looks down into a courtyard - very quiet. The other looks down onto New Englan...

Of course, we happened to be here because we were bringing our grandson to visit Rollins College. We were so glad that we found this hotel on Trip Advisor. If only we could have stayed here during our entire trip to see Florida colleges! It is a beautiful, new, modern, friendly, place. I think it is even special enough to be a destination for a very nice trip. Winter Park is a lovely, very charming town and we liked everything about this hotel. The hotel restaurant is very good. We managed to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner here, in spite of the many other good restaurants in town. At dinner, my husband discovered the baby kale salad, which is truly delicious. He had it again for lunch which we ate outside on a lovely terrace. All the food we had was delicious. The menu is simple, but varied. Our rooms were nice and very colorful. The beds are comfortable. Valet parking worked efficiently. It was very wise of Rollins to include this beautiful hotel in their campus. It is a true asset to the the school and the town.

This is a top notch hotel in a great area. We were here for a wedding on Rollins campus and was truly impressed with the ambiance and the staff. Low key and luxury is a difficult combo but The Alfond Inn delivers both extremely well. The decor is very classic. I would have rated the bed alone as 5 stars as it was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Loved my in-room dining of a tender, perfectly cooked filet. Breakfast on Sunday was equally as delicious. We didn't know anything about Winter Park until this visit but we will most definitely be back. A few blocks from the Inn is a great Farmers Market, great restaurants and many different shops. Saturday night the streets are alive with music, food, and people. Just a great area to walk around and have fun. Can't wait to come back and explore more of this historic town.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Alfond Inn. The proximity to Park Ave. was wonderful. We wandered around the lobby one night looking at all of the exhibits., There was also artwork on our hotel floor and on the way to the pool. The room was very pretty as well. I would have liked more food choices for room service but I loved the quinoa dish I ordered. The parking is valet only but they retrieved our car very quickly every time we needed it.

The brand new Alfond Inn in Winter Park is a pleasant surprise and a nice slice of Heaven just a couple of blocks from Park. We visited to attend a surprise 50th birthday party for a friend from Tampa with Orlando/Winter Park connection. Front desk service was still a bit shaky since it was new when we stayed. Breakfast was included in our package and was very nice. Welcome drink package was less than satisfactory.
