“Let the pictures do the talking.....”
Reviewed 20 May 2014

I was hoping I could add the photos I took here of the light at the end of the day, tipping the dead trees, while birds flew overhead, settling for the night - just like us.........at peace.
Clean amenities, pet friendly, reasonable fees and charming owners.

We have travelled for over 6 week and then we came here and had to stay for 5 night, that all the time we had. The bush setting, with shade and quiet is just what you need to relax. The dirt road is very well maintained and better than some seal road, we'll worth the visit.

We stayed for one night on the way up to Uluru, the campsite was excellent. It had HOT showers (which is always good when on the road for days) clean toilets, camp kitchen with fridge, cooker, microwave, sink! On our way back from Uluru we stayed again as it was one of the best around!
The owner was really friendly and helpful.
Would defiantly stay at stony creek bush camp again.
Excellent!!

We stumbled across the Stony Creek Bush Camp after touring the Flinders Ranges. We loved it that much we stayed for a week! The location and the beautiful setting of the campground is fantastic! Such a lovely relaxed atmosphere, and the owners could not do enough for us. Keep the campfire burning as we will definitely be back!!

We've visited several times, both with groups of friends, and our young daughter. Couldn't be happier! Native animals everywhere, great entertainment area, lots of fire areas, lovely clean facilities and a fun playground and activities for the kids. Plenty of room to spread out- feels like you're 100kms from anyone but close enough to make it to the loos.
Love the area. Great base camp for day trips anywhere in the Flinders Ranges.

All the reviews seemed to miss the point about the fabulous quiet and wonderful silence that the park appears to offer, until the truck loads of young teenagers descend on the place. This happens four or five times a week. They take over the place - the communal area and surrounds, running, screaming and filing up with drinks. When we asked for the music to be turned down, there was no response from the management only to say that the campsite was well supported by the tour companies catering for the young and they weren't about to jeopardise their income. This left us with no alternative but to drive a further hour and a half to another location, which was just what we wanted, tranquility and quiet near the Flinders Range - Hawker Caravan Park, definitely to be recommended.

Waynzworld, Owner at Stony Creek Bush Camp Caravan Park, responded to this review, 1 February 2014
PLEASE TAKE NOTE.
This campsite does cater to over 5000 international tourists a year through two bus companies who visit Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday & Thursdays of every week.
On this particular day (Australia Day Weekend) with temperature exceeding 40c these "truckloads" of young people were listening to a radio stations hottest 100 countdown that was nearing it completion. Running around filling up on drink as stated is unfair as they had just spent 6hrs cooped up in a small coach in these temperatures. They were simply using the squirt guns (that I provide) to cool down on their arrival.
Your complaint to me was registered at 5.30pm. No compromise could be settled with you. I offered you a quieter section of my park. The driver asked that the radio be allowed to run to the end of the countdown. Even a free stay in the park did not satisfy your anger. To finally threaten me with 'bad reviews' was the last straw and you were asked to leave.
As for forcing you to travel another hour up the road is unfounded as there are several campsites closer, even another caravan park in this town.
I had another dozen campers in the park who had heard your rants, they commented about your rude behavior and were glad you left.
PLEASE NOTE there are no 'fun police' in this campground. People do like to unwind and that is a service I provide in my park. Sacrifice of one to satisfy the many.

Clean facilities, extremely helpful and friendly owner/managers.
Easy, straightforward and just plain relaxing.
The toilets are quite nicely done with old recycled corrugated iron and the showers are spacious - both impeccably kept.

Room Tip: We took a van - ask for creek side site
