We booked last minute with Jenny and since there were no reviews, we were not sure what to expect. Rumble Seat Inn is wonderful! If you want and expect a perfectly maintained B&B, this is NOT the place for you. This is a big, rambling house that feels lived in, with an artistic whimsey in all the wonderful furnishings and decorations. There are photos of the family, interesting paintings, collages and other artistic touches everywhere. The Tower Room was fantastic - a very large room with a little hallway and a second small porch-like room for sitting and reading or having a meal. The kitchenette is tucked into the space made from a slanted roof, so it is tiny, but has a full refrigerator. The bathroom and shower are also tucked into a smallish space, but all worked well. For a bathtub, a claw-footed tub is right in the bedroom, which is kind of fun and different.
There is a little porch on the second floor and a big, wrap-around porch on the first floor. We settled in and did not want to leave the next day - we were so welcomed and comfortable. Jenny is a caterer and made us a great breakfast with eggs from her own chickens, grits, fresh fruit and a delicious coffee cake. This is the kind of B&B where you feel comfortable wandering into the kitchen to chat. The website has good descriptions of the rooms. The house is on a somewhat busy local road, but we did not hear any traffic noise. You can walk to town from here and enjoy the old downtown area and the beautiful houses of Barnesville.
