“Worth the wait”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Bit of a wait to get in, but worth it. Got the usual - pulled pork sandwiches and sides (baked beans, potato salad, brunswick stew and "chocolate delight"). Meat was quite good, and seriously the sandwich is big enough to split. They have their buns specially made - looks sorta like a bread canoe - which does its job well, holding all the bbq in. We really enjoyed the sauce, too.

Brunswick stew was nicely traditional (many places seem to want to put their own twist on it, and not to great effect), potato salad had a nice balance of mayo (not too wet), chocolate delight is an odd mash of chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, and whipped cream in a bowl. If you like chocolate, you won't complain.

Worth driving out of the way, and worth waiting in line.

“Awesome BBQ”
Reviewed 19 July 2014 via mobile

My wife and I ate for the first time on July 3rd. We were really impressed and brought friends up July 19th. We all had the BBQ pork sandwich and all agree it was better than anything we have had back home in Alabama. The sides we had were all wonderful from the beans to the slaw and finally the Brunswick stew. We are looking forward to our next visit to Jim' s Smokin' Q.

“Best beef brisket!”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

We ate at Jim's for the first time last month. Liked the eclectic mix of furniture. Waited in a long line to place order, then found a table and waited a short while for food. Staff very friendly. When the food arrived, the servings were huge! Two people can easily split the beef brisket sandwich and fries. That's the best brisket I've ever had. And the homemade sweet BBQ sauce-- oh, my goodness! Best ever. Father-in-law had the ribs and said they were outstanding. Get there early, because some items sell out. The desserts are a bit odd, all served in little cups. We'll definitely return. Only way this place can improve is to expand space and make it real table service.

“Fabulous BBQ”
Reviewed 13 July 2014

On a recent trip to North Ga. we stumbled across this wonderful BBQ spot. There was a huge crowd including many locals which was a good sign that the food was good. We both ordered pulled pork which was in a homemade bun that opened like a tortilla. This was some of the best BBQ we had ever eaten and definitely worth the wait. Our sides were also tasty. We will definitely be back!
