“Good value as long as you know the tips....”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

Great, convenient location right outside of Bryce Canyon National Park for our family with two boys ages 11 and 14. We were happily surprised to see the rustic and charming lobby with a stone fireplace and old west decor. There's a free park shuttle that stops right across the street with the rodeo, singing cowboy dinner show and historical "downtown" shops also within steps from the inn. The lobby has activity desks for bookings in the area. We especially appreciated the WiFi in our room, the indoor pool with jacuzzi and the coin operated laundry facility. Breakfast is not included so we bought items at the General Store in the lobby to eat in our room which had a table and chairs. There is a refrigerator and microwave. The motel style rooms are modern inside but NOT sound proof. Trick is to insist on a room upstairs, away from the stairs!!! Overall, decent value for the money.

Room Tip: Insist on a room upstairs away from the stairs ! The buildings are NOT soundproof !

There are 8 different buildings with rooms in them and then there is the main lodge, general store and laundromat. Our room had a lovely view of the small pond in back and was a good size. Most of the rooms are on exterior corridors and some you could park in front of. For us it was not a comfortable stay, there were huge lines in the main lodge with people waiting for the restaurant, made it a challenge to get checked in. Rooms did not include breakfast but had a microwave and fridge.

We do have many lodges that comprise our property. We have an on site restaurant the Cowboy Buffet & Steakhouse that can get a little busy at peak hours. We do apologize that the line may have trailed into the lobby as we do direct it into the waiting area of the restaurant. We are glad you enjoyed the view from our Lakeview Lodge!

I was a little nervous at first glance - looks like a basic motel from the outside. However, the rooms are clean, spacious enough for a family of four and the beds are great. The hotel has clearly invested money in their beds and linens. Also, love the 2 sinks in the room - one being a separate vanity area outside the toilet/shower room. The fridge is larger than typical hotel room refrigerators giving you plenty of room to stock up on food from the great little grocery store that is part of the hotel. We brought our own food for dinner and were able to heat it up in the microwave and bought stuff for sandwiches from their grocery store so, we did not try any of the restaurants. The room is pricey for a "motel" type place, however, the location can't be beat. After driving through the town and seeing the other properties, this is the only place I would choose to stay when visiting Bryce Canyon.

We stayed in Bryce Canyon for a night on our cross country move/road trip. We loved the park and the hotel was so close to the entrance. After dark, we drove up the road a few miles to Fairyland Canyon just before the actual entrance to the park just to check out the stars - wow. My only complaint in Bryce Canyon is the seemingly little restaurant options. We ate downstairs at the Ruby Inn restaurant and it was fine - average food that is overpriced but what are you going to do! Not a bad deal for priceline express deals for 85 bucks.

We stayed one night at the Lakeside Lodge (one of several buildings on the property), facing the lake, 2nd floor, in a two queen-bed room. The room was clean and comfortable but a pricey. However, they have a deal going where the 2nd night is 50% off. The double sink counter are outside the restroom and shower room which helps with family traffic in the morning. No noise or other room problems. The WiFi was average. The hotel is a large facility with the main building and surrounding buildings ("lodges) to the side and back. The pool looked nice but you will need to walk a bit from the lakeside lodge to get to it. It is geared toward tourism and they do not have any continental breakfast - although two restaurants exist on site. Their general store is well stocked and large with areas for souvenirs, gifts, small market, art shop, etc. There is a gas station, horse back riding trips, ATV rentals, etc. When we were there, more than half were foreigners on tours. Bottom line, you are paying for the location since entrance Bryce is just a mile or two away. We did eat at the restaurant and confirmed that while the buffet is o.k., individual dishes seemed more tastier. We probably will stay there again, just because of the location, but will bring sanwiches next time for dinner.

No matter how low or how long the air conditioner ran the room did not get cold at all. Room was some what clean and it was not a 5 star resort. If you are looking for something close to Bryce, then this the place. Easy to get to and easy to get out. It's expensive for what you get.

Even though there are limited lodging choices while visiting Bryce Canyon, we were still happy with the accommodations. It was only a couple of miles from the park entrance.Ruby's Inn is a large, touristy resort with all the amenities. We stayed in one of the Lakeview Lodge rooms. It was in the back of the resort and actually faced a little manmade lake. Very serene and quiet. Our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. It had a microwave and refrigerator. I had to do laundry so having an on-site laundry facility was a big plus. (Wash was $2.50/load and the dryer was $1.50/load-and it actually dried my clothes the first time around. Wash early because the place gets crowded once everyone returns for the evening. The on-site post office was handy so I could mail some postcards. The grocery store was way overpriced but the Campstore was reasonable and had a huge selection of souvenirs. We chose not to eat on-site because of the pricing and reviews. We drove about 4 miles out of town and ate at Bryce Canyon Pines Restaurant. Registration was easy and the employees friendly. Across the street is a little western shopping plaza with a gift store that sells souvenirs and ice cream. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for the Lakeview Lodge as it is in the back and more private. Ask for a lake facing room.
