Glen Ella never disappoints us when we need a getaway. We usually love to come in the spring or fall, but this time we decided to do an early summer trip. We thought it might be too hot, but it was perfect! As soon as we leave the pavement of the city, it feels so much cooler sitting in the mountains, watching the deer graze in the meadow.
As usual, Lucie and Ed and the entire staff were welcoming and gracious. Mariah is so friendly and helpful, and we really appreciate how she goes out of her way to make sure we are comfortable. The setting is just so relaxing, and while everyone strives to provide great service, it has such a private, comfortable feel. They really do get it right! If you want time away, but great service, Glen Ella is for you.
We also always look forward to dinner and breakfast, and it was better than ever! My husband enjoyed a beef tenderloin, cooked perfectly, and I had the seafood pasta. The salad and bread were fresh and tasted like somone had just picked the greens, baked the bread, and whisked the dressing. So good! Breakfast was plentiful and delicious as well.
We loved seeing the beautiful grounds, as we walked around the amazing gardens, looked out over the meadow and pool, and just sat and read, talked, and enjoyed. The gardens were more beautiful than ever. They take such care to provide a relaxing, lovely area.
We saw a group enjoying a rehearsal dinner, and they seemed to have such a good time, but it did not detract from the quiet relaxation. They do such a good job of providing the perfect setting for so many different groups, always thinking about the privacy of everyone.
We also like to take little getaways to other places, and I wanted to comment on how this getaway provides so much in one place. We often arrive at other hotels, and immediately have a parking charge, breakfast charge, $5 bottles of water, and everything just adds up. Glen Ella provides free parking, an incredible breakfast is included, and they even have complimentary soda, water, and a variety of snacks. Dinner is steps away from your room, and you can swim, hike, read, talk, rest, or just soak in the scenery. I love it that we can park, and we are there until we have to leave for home. That makes our time seem so much longer.
We will keep going back to Glen Ella because we always drive away wishing we could stay all week!
If you want to forget the stress of a hectic daily life, or if you just want to enjoy a couple of nights with your loved one, this is the place! We will definitely be back! :)
