Wifey and I wanted to spend a winery weekend in north Georgia and we picked the Beechwood Inn based on reviews here and its location. We were not disappointed.
The inn was gorgeous. The common rooms were comfortable and the front veranda has excellent chairs and a nice view. We spent one morning and one evening on the deck, drinking wine and coffee, and chatting with the other guests. Very pleasant.
Our room was Lura's Suite. Tons of space, a private balcony, and a king-sized bed. It was a comfortable room and I'd happily reserve that one again. The inn was not full and it was very quiet in the evenings.
Breakfast both mornings was a hot plate (eggs and ham one day, pancakes and sausage the other) with fresh fruit, pastries, and juice.
We did the Saturday night chef's table. Several courses, nice wine, and excellent food. It was not cheap (roughly $100/person) but it was a great dinner. It started with "wine-thirty" with wine and appetizers on the veranda then moved into the dining room for more wine, soup, salad, entree, and desert. And more wine. It was a wonderful evening.
The owners were very accommodating and pleasant. They are excellent cooks and took good care of us.
Overall, it was a pricey weekend, but no more than we expected. We were happy with the inn, the amenities, the food, and our hosts. We'd happily stay here again.More
