The Beechwood Inn was our choice for overnight after we completed a tour of North Georgia's wineries. It was lovely. The property is historic and the staff who greeted us gave us a very warm welcome. Unfortunately, we were not there on a Saturday when they offer dinner. Breakfast, however, was delicious and they offer a wine hour with nibbles every evening. We stayed in the cottage which is separate from the inn but offers lots of space, a lovely tub and shower and very comfortable bed.

Room Tip: If you want your own little private space, the cottage is recommended. We did not see the rooms in the inn (except for the photos on their website).

Beechwood Inn is conveniently located to many of North Georgia’s wineries and vineyards. And, as you know from your wine-thirty experience, we offer our own Beechwood Inn wines for tasting with light appetizers every evening. Glad you found breakfast delicious and your bed comfortable- exactly what a bed and breakfast should provide.

Looking for something to do in North Ga. at the spur of the moment, my wife and I saw the hotel's ad for a Dinner and Wine Pairing. We decided to go and sleep over at the inn - too much wine and food to attempt a drive back to Atlanta.. Food was superb - and I am a "foodie". The inn was lovely. David and Gayle were excellent host/hostess. This is a hidden gem in North Ga. Have been recommending since. Only down side no swimming pool or spa. They do "Farm to table" meal planning.

Glad you found Beechwood Inn for your last minute Get-A-Way. Yes, Beechwood Inn is the perfect destination for the food and wine enthusiast – that is our focus. While we do not operate an onsite spa we partner with the nearby Amara Center, a fabulous medi-spa. Let us arrange a treatment for you on your next visit. And thanks for mentioning our environmental practices; we work hard to reduce Beechwood Inn’s carbon footprint.

I've stayed there 3X in the mid to late 1990's when Marty owned the property and stayed in the main house then. This time we stayed in the blueberry cabin down the steps from the house. The place is very nice and relaxing. John (the guest host who took care of us upon our check-in) was fantastic and helpful. He stayed late to talk about restaurants, things to do and serve us wine and cheese. He had a great story to tell us and made us feel at home. The breakfast (French toast, ham, strawberries/yogurt, muffin, juice) was excellent. The cabin was the most expensive room and was nice and roomy. We talked to David (owner) a lot and found him to be extremely entertaining and engaging. We met two guests from Atlanta who talked to us at breakfast and on the porch. We just didn't want to leave and will go back again this summer for two nights. The town is friendly and quaint. The wine (we purchased one bottle) was very good. If in the area, I'd highly recommend a stay.

We are pleased John took good care of you upon your arrival and at wine-thirty. I will pass on to him your compliments. We agree, the Blueberry Cabin offers a wonderful restorative respite from the busy world. It is large with plenty of room to move around and relax. We are also pleased you rated breakfast excellent. As a chef I know that if I start with fresh local eggs from organic pastured chickens, fresh sausage not laden with BHT and just picked local strawberries, then all I have to do in the kitchen is show proper respect for our farmers’ efforts. I’m glad you found me entertaining (I must have missed my meds). We love the town of Clayton too. It’s a step back in time to a slower pace of life. Thank you for the glowing recommendation, we look forward to your summer visit. David Darugh

My boyfriend and I spent our Memorial Day Weekend at the Beechwood Inn which was a perfect place to getaway for a relaxing stay away from noisy Atlanta. We stayed in the Nantahala Suite, which I highly recommend for it's charm and spaciousness and direct access to the secret garden out back. The weekend couldn't have been more perfect, Dave and Gale are amazing hosts as well as chefs, and what they have done with the inn is beyond words. We are definitely keeping this little gem in the mountains of North GA on our list for our future weekend getaways!

Thanks for joining us for our Memorial Day Weekend Celebration. We agree, the Nantahala Suite offers a large but a cozy hideaway. The covered patio with access to our secret garden makes it a romantic recluse. We thank you for your personal comments about our offered hospitality. Our goal is to provide personal attention and to make each guest feel special. We look forward to your next visit.

We were fortunate to find the Vineyard room open on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and we're delighted to be able to take part in the dining and entertainment at the inn that evening. The Celtic/bluegrass/mountain violinists were outstanding, and we enjoyed listening to their performance on the porch of the inn. Dinner after was very good and we appreciated having chef and owner David spend time with us and other diners throughout the meal. Breakfast was wonderful, and our room was nicely appointed, clean and very quiet. We were awakened by the wonderful smells from the kitchen and the sounds of birds in the trees and bushes outside our windows. The inn has a decidedly Early American style that compliments the architecture well. It was a lovely stay.

On special holidays we offer the best of local music to entertain our guests. We are pleased you enjoyed the Celtic Music of Marie Dunkle and Marge McDonald. I will be sure to pass on to them your praise. Glad you had a lovely stay.
