Drove to Kingwood today with 3 golfing friends and played. It was well worth the drive. The course was in great condition and scenery is next to none. The course is quite challenging and is what I call placement golf instead of just grip it and rip it. Lots of elevation change that makes club choice important. Bent grass greens held great and rolled true.
The club hose and pro shop are extremely nice and customer service was perfect.
We will be back soon!

The golf course is wonderful and the service is superb. The grounds were very well kept. The rooms were disappointing as they needed updates. The bathrooms are very large and their is a small fridge in the room. The food at the Club was not good at all. It is $25.00 per plate for a dinner meal and not worth it at all. The waitress who seated us looked discusted that we wanted to eat dinner there. The actual waitress who served us was fantastic. The golf is well worth the trip but the food and accommodations are average.

I stayed at the Kingwood Country Club & Resort for one night. I found the room to be average and need of renovation. The service was good and hospitable. The fitness center had a lot of good weight machines.
They need to provide breakfast earlier than 7:30 a.m. for business travelers. I had to leave around that time and missed breakfast.
Also, there was no one at the desk at 7:00 a.m. to check me out.
I would stay at the Kingwood Country Club & Resort again if I had the opportunity.

Room Tip: If you are looking for beauty and value, this is the place.

Golf at Kingwood is unique due to the location and history of the grounds. Not only is the course beautiful and challenging, but it holds items such as the original grain silo, rock chimmney's from houses gone long ago, an old cemetary which was dedicated to slaves that worked on the estate. There is a different view from every hole, and you're almost always guaranteed a breeze! The people who work at Kingwood are friendly and professional, as well as welcoming. It offers a variety of options for lodging. Condos, house rentals and of course the hotel rooms. Tennis courts, indoor/outdoor pools, walking trails, etc are just a few of the things to do. It's also a great wedding venue. I've seen two weddings done at Kingwood. The wedding venue is actually on top of a hill that was once where the "Grand House" stood years ago. A romantic and unique setting for a mountain wedding. Def worth checking it out! Clayton is just a few miles from Kingwood, so alternate shopping, eating and activities aren't far away.
P.S. golfnow.com often has discounted tee-times for Kingwood!
