“Nice cabin”

The cabin was new and perfectly designed for 2 people. It has all the amenities one could desire. The surrounding area is beautiful and close enough to towns with stores and restaurants but far enough away for peace and quiet. The communication with the property management was a little difficult although eventually we did not let it impact our stay significantly. I will say this would have been a 5 star review had the communication with management had been better. Because e cabin is so new, directions on how to operate a few of the cabin features would be handy. It has a gas fireplace but the pilot light was not lit with no instructions on how to light it. Once I figured it out (after many manipulations and at least 2 frustrating hours spread over the first day before successful) I got the pilot light lit. Then it was as simple as an on/off switch. With no directions on how to light it, or better yet, having the presence of mind to have the pilot lit in advance of our arrival, it was ironic that the check in list we were asked to read before anything else contained paragraphs listed on how to clean a natural wood fireplace and safety precautions for such! This was a gas fireplace!

They're are beautiful, high cathedral ceiling with ceiling fans above. They were so high up that they required remote controls to turn them off and on. We tried to use the remote controls unsuccessfully the first day and could not get someone out to help us. The second day someone did come out and showed us that there are light switches on the wall that need to be turned on before the remotes work. Again, ab phone call telling us to start trying light switches or a simple paragraph from Property Management in it's instructions explaining this fact would have gone a long way to solving this frustrating issue on our first day there.

There is an outdoor fire pit that we completely enjoyed but please note, they're was no outside seating or portable chairs to sit on. The only place? Red Georgia clay!! As a suggestion a number of large stumps surrounding the firepit or some outside chairs would be most welcome.

Ultimately, the cabin was beautiful and we would certainly recommend it and stay there again. Hopefully Management's listens to these comments and updates the check in procedures to make it much easier on future renters. They seem to have a computer-based reply system for phone calls, texts and emails instead of actually having a person that you can speak with. I understand we're in a computers world but when you're there to relax a friendly voice would be most comforting instead. I have so many emails from "Tom Tedford", all with a snappy photo of him, but actually never communicated with him other than these computer generated communications. Just sayin', it would have only taken a tiny bit of oversight in advance to have made this perfect, but I'll take "very good" these days!
