My husband and I just came back from a long weekend in Dahlonega,Ga. We were so pleased with our experience at this hotel that I just had to write and let people know that there is an inexpensive, clean, comfortable, courteous place to stay in Dahlonega that is close to everything. The manager and owner, Al Patel, is available 24/7 and so pleasant and really wants you to enjoy your stay at his hotel, The breakfast is more than a continental breakfast and contains hot and cold items. Our room was neat, clean, and comfortable. We are planning another trip in the spring and are hoping to stay here again. This is by far one of the best deals for the money in the area.

Stayed here during Gold Rush Days. The hotel is close to everything. They had a shuttle to festivities which you had to pay $10pp to ride all day, but we walked instead. Hotel is a little less than a mile away from the festivities (all sidewalks) but there is one long hill to walk up to get to town. There is a McDonalds next door and a Dunkin Donut and Walmart just a short distance away. Our room was on the back side. The room was clean. It looked like there was new tile in the bathroom floor and the walls had been recently painted but the paint job was sloppy. Altho the stained rugs were vacuumed, they had definitely seen better days and had a shampoo odor. They said when their busy season ends they will be replacing all the rugs and the breakfast area will get a makeover. The king bed was comfortable. The television was older and most of the stations you couldn't see because there was so much snow....we tried unscrewing the cable and screwing back in but that didn't improve the reception. Altho the room was clean and within walking distance of the festival, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, we felt $123 (after taxes) was a little pricey for what you got.

This was without doubt the filthiest, dirtiest hotel I have ever seen. I had to kick to room door to get it to open. The lights did not work. The carpet was disgusting and the smell in the room was god-awful. The manager was inattentive and rude. It was so bad, I could not stay there. I demanded a refund and left. Super 8 obviously has zero quality control.

Room Tip: Watch out for bed bugs!

Went the 2nd weekend in October and everything was sold out even in neighboring towns except for 1 room at this place. There were several events going on in nearby cities and here so I didn't have much choice - which is the ONLY reason we stayed here. It was dirty and disgusting. We slept on top of the beds and didn't go near the shower though we both needed one - it just wasn't worth it. There was a free breakfast but it was very slim pickings. They charged us $110 but with my AAA discount it was "ONLY" $100! I understand the concept of supply and demand so didn't complain about the price but seriously decided it might have been better to sleep in the car.
The only goods about the place was that it was right next to a McDonalds and I felt safe there even with the doors opening to the outside of the hotel and the manager on duty. He was very nice and even told us about where to go and what to see the next day while we were there. He also explained why it was so busy that weekend (we knew he was telling the truth b/c I had inquired myself beforehand).
