We had a wonderful time for our 7th anniversary at the Long Mountain Lodge. Flowers were awaiting as my husband arranged that with the innkeeper before hand. They also included a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. How nice! We loved the little extras and our room had a whirlpool tub and huge bath. Outside of our patio was a beautiful landscape of GA's finest mountains. We utilized the hiking maps and hiked around the lodge and also at one of the parks. The hike up the falls is so worth it and what a feeling to have made it!

Breakfast was delicious every morning and eating on the screened porch was such a treat (even though we were always the LAST ones to get there they had it ready and warm!)!
We loved this gold mining town and spent a lot of time downtown and visiting the winery's.

We can't wait to visit again!

Room Tip: We had the Winding Stairs Gap Suite suite and it was very private and cozy.

I am a long-time B&B visitor, having stayed in more than 100 across the country. And this is truly one of my favorite locations. The log-cabin style home sits on the top of the mountain, up a perilous driveway, with extraordinary views. The house was built by the owners as a B&B, and the owners house is next door. For this reason it has all the best features of a hotel and a bed & breakfast. The rooms are spacious, with roomy private baths, flat screen TVs, wi-fi, and wood-burning fireplaces. The main floor provides a comfortable sitting room with its own wood-burning fireplace, a dining area where breakfast is served and a kitchen that is open for use by guests, if you need to store some leftovers in the refrigerator or use the microwave. Each afternoon they put out snacks, and tea and cocoa is available at all times. One thing we noticed was the attention to detail. They truly thought of everything! Our room, The Quinn, had its own private entrance off a small deck, which led directly to our car. The B&B seems like it's in the middle of nowhere, but it's really just about 7 miles from quaint adorable downtown Dahlonega. And the Monteluce Vineyard, Amicalola Falls, and Funky Chicken Art Project are all within a 30-min. drive. For you foodies and winos, this is a fantastic location for both! Colleen, the owners' daughter, provided us with a delicious breakfast each morning to get our day started. We will definitely stay here any time we go to the Smokies!

Room Tip: The Quinn is a spacious beautiful room upstairs, with a desk in a nook. It has a private entrance, a...

This lovely out-of-the way B&B is absolutely beautiful! Guest rooms have working wood-burning fireplaces, very comfortable beds, etc. The owners could not be more accomodating. A tad pricey but everything is first class. Great breakfast prepared and served by Ms. Quigley. A top 10 B&B!!

My wife and I took a long weekend, four night stay at Long Mountain Lodge and our first experience in a lodge type B&B. The lodge, rooms, views, hospitality and tremendous breakfasts, (thanks Colleen!), exceeded our expectations. This along with the great mountain hikes, winery tours and tastings, and the experience of the Christmas charm of the town of Dahlonega made for this being a special time together.

Room Tip: all rooms have a private entry and porch or balcony, all have private fireplaces and hot tubs (they...

We've been to Long Mountain Lodge numerous times now and are always given a warm welcome by the Quigleys! Everything is always ready upon arrival, and the breakfast that is served is a delight every time. The afternoon cheese, crackers, chocolate chip cookies, and sherry, along with assorted teas and coffee is a welcome respite when you have been out hiking, shopping, or sightseeing. Just a top notch operation that enables you to relax, unwind, make new friends, or just spend time alone on the balcony! Beautiful area, and the best place to stay in Dahlonega.

Room Tip: The two rooms upstairs have private entrances and private balconies!

The Long Mountain Lodge is a wonderful place to stay just outside Dahlonega, GA. We would recommend this place to anyone from a newlywed couple to a 75th anniversary couple. The Lodge accommodations were spectacular, down to the private balcony we enjoyed last night, looking at the moon and breathing in the fall air. fab!!! Our room was spacious, with a fireplace, readied with firewood and kindling - ready to go! The bathroom had a nice shower AND a jacuzzi tub, donned with tealight candles. The lodge had a cozy living room, with another fireplace, and 3 levels, each with a deck that looked onto the Appalachian scenery. There was even a game room, with games, cards, puzzles, books, and movies. (the room came with both a VHS player and a DVD player connected to the directv-powered TV). It was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was pretty good. All in all, a great stay.

Room Tip: We had the Whissenhunt room. We never heard any of the other people in the lodge, and we enjoyed a p...

Long Mountain Lodge is the best place on earth for a weekend getaway! I was surprised by my (now) Fiancee with the trip of a lifetime to Long Mountain Lodge! We toured the vineyards, ate at great restaurants and GOT ENGAGED! It was the absolute best time of my life. Long Mountain Lodge planned everything for us the entire weekend, and it was wonderful! The breakfasts are to die for, and we enjoyed the peace and quiet away from the big city of Atlanta. We did not want to go back to reality Monday morning! The weather was perfect, the views were amazing and the hospitatlity was like you are at home! I recommend if you are going to tour the vineyards of NWGA, go antiquing or are just looking for a weekend getaway, Long Mountain Lodge is the place to stay! It is just the right distance from town, and close to all vineyards! When we were leaving, Dianne, the owner of Long Mountain Lodge, signed a copy of her cookbook and gave it to us as a special treat to top off our engagement weekend! She and her family are genuine and have great helping hearts! We will be back again and again!
