Yes, I have kids, and love kids...but I would not bring mine to a bnb. This couple should not have brought theirs...the child was allowed to run, slam doors, and we heard "mommie, mommie, mommie, mommie, mommie for an hour. Finally they left until the evening. I will definitely ask, something I never thought to ask in the past, if the bnb allows kids....if so, we will not stay. The front door to this bnb needs an arm to keep the door from slamming. Every time anyone would enter or leave through the front door it slammed...shattering all peace and tranquility. The grounds are very cluttered. Seems as though you could hear everything throughout the house - maybe needs insulation in the walls. Bed could use a topper. No tv in our room...not sure about the other rooms. Plenty of books and literature. Remote location with scenic view. Very bird-watcher oriented. Breakfast was Perfect!

Yes, we accept children. I am so sorry this child disturbed you. We are quite emphatic that the rare child staying with us be in the company of a parent at all times. Don't know how we missed hearing the commotion as we certainly would have corrected the problem. I am so sorry to have let you down on this issue. Our front door does not slam unless someone works very hard to make it do so. Inner hallway doors to guest rooms will slam when guests leave them open and then open the outside door to their porch or deck especially if there is a breeze. All of our rooms have an en suite bath. The Seafarer is a two level unit with the bathroom at the bottom of it's own private stairway to the third floor bedroom. Have not considered putting a topper on the Memory Foam mattress other than the cotton mattress pad and not sure that it is recommended. Some of our rooms have TV's. We do our best to explain each room's amenities on our website. Just this week we added a small TV to the Seafarer Suite.

The Blue Heron's hosts Bill and Jan are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The deck overlooking the ocean marsh had stunning views. The rooms were beautiful and the painted bunting I wanted to see was visible from our bedroom.

Great location...part of group of parents/friends at wedding. Jan and Bill are excellent hosts. Breakfast is quite good. Off the beaten path makes it an adventure as well. Don't miss B&J's for fried shrimp and Mudcat Charley's for cocktails on the Altamaha @ the two way fish camp. You can bounce on over to Sapelo on the ferry as well. If you like the coast, enjoy an unusual, but cool find in accommodations and want some seafood this is the place...almost forgot a shout out to Chef Eric at Darien River House. He put a gourmet dinner on us and treated us like he was our personal chef. Thumbs up all around.

A wonderful hidden gem along the coastal marsh lands of Georgia. We were greeted with smiles upon arriving at the Blue Heron Inn and warm hospitality throughout our stay. Four (4) couples spent the weekend to attend a wedding on Sapello Island. Our daughters were part of the bridal party. Bill & Jan are very knowledgeable about the area and engage in conversation about the area, history, etc. Darien is small but dinner at the River House was wonderful with the Chef explaining his signature dishes, travels, etc. Lunch at B&J for local fried shrimp along with an afternoon Margarita at Mud Cat Charlies was a fun Saturday afternoon prior to hopping the ferry over to Sapello.

A relaxing weekend was had by all with laughter and wonderful inn keepers.

This was our second visit to the Blue Heron and again it was wonderful. Bill and Jan could't have been more helpful and hospitable. It's a great place to relax and we will return again. The breakfasts were excellent each day and they are glad to help plan activities during your visit. Afternoon wine time allows for enjoyable conversations with other guests as well as Bill and Jan.

Room Tip: The Blue Heron room is the largest, but all have great views of the marsh and all are well appointed...

We took a long weekend getaway to Coastal Georgia to explore this less touristy area and to enjoy the tidal marsh views at Blue Heron. This is a great place to just "get away from it all" and enjoy nature. Our cozy room was very comfortable (wish we had another comfy chair to sit and read though since we had some rain during our visit that forced us inside). Loved the little notes at turn down. The view, nature, and the peaceful surroundings are the draw for this laid back place. Innkeepers often make a stay at a B&B memorable and Jan and Bill are the best! Really dee-lish breakfasts and chatting over a glass of wine in the evening with other guests was wonderful. Great recommendations for places to eat in the small but picturesque town nearby. We enjoyed visiting some of the historic sites as well. This is where we'll go to renew our spirits!

Room Tip: Best view - Sea Farer (3rd Floor w/private deck); Best amenities - Blue Heron (has a TV, too)
