“the place to go for breakfast”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

We ate breakfast at the Cupboard Cafe and several days later stopped in for dinner. Breakfast was definitely the better meal. It was delicious and there was plenty of it! We had enough left over to take home for another meal. The restaurant is clean and the service was fast and friendly. When we returned for dinner we were disappointed in the food - felt like it was average. My husband had the meat loaf and it was flavorless. We will return for breakfast but will go somewhere else for dinner.

“Merely OK in my book”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

Based on the reviews here, my husband and I ate at Cupboard Cafe last week after a hike in the area. The place is quaint and pleasant, the menu is quite extensive. However, we did not find the food as impressive as we hoped. It is traditional southern style without much flavor or imagination. We both had the corned beef hash with biscuit and gravy. The eggs were cooked correctly, and the hash was pretty good, with meaty chunks. The biscuit was tough and tasteless; the gravy was not great, but made it tolerable. Service was friendly, but a bit slow. Our bill was higher than we normally pay for an excellent breakfast elsewhere. I doubt that we will be back.

“Always The Best”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

In our travels to Highlands, NC or Clayton, GA over the past decades, we have always stopped at the Cupboard Café in Dillard, GA. We make a point to go there as it is one of the best in the U.S.A., Food and Service is top notch. We have been doing this for at least 20 years and we have seen the Cupboard Café grow and grow better.

“Something for EVERYONE and yummy!”
Reviewed 16 June 2014

I don't know how they do it but they offer almost everything on the menu. Even on busy times like after church on Sunday the wait isn't long. The food is very good. And the prices are reasonable. We've been semi regulars every summer and we love it. This Sunday I ordered the Southern Chicken Salad - a bowl of tender baby spinach and romaine lettuce with hard boiled eggs and tomatoes and nicely grilled chicken. I asked them to forget the cheese and bring me balsamic vinegar. You can have it with fried chicken if you desire it. My husband ordered roast turkey and dressing, collard greens and green beans. The total price was about $25. But the menu also had burgers, BBQ, omelets, pancakes, rainbow trout, steak, fried onion rings, beer and wine and unbelievable banana pudding. You name it they probably have it. Go see for yourself.

“If you are not sure what to eat, stop here - they have it all!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

Stayed in Dillard, GA for a few nights. Had eaten at the Cupboard Cafe a few years ago, thought we would try it again. We were not disappointed. The menu is extensive. You name it, they probably have it. We went on a Thursday night around 6 pm and it was already filling up but we got right in. You walk through a gift shop (Cracker Barrell like), past a yummy fudge and cookie section, then past an ice cream counter (maybe next time). We ordered fried chicken and grilled fish and sides for $9.99 each. All was very good. Would definitely go again when in the area.
