This place is out there at the edge of the Okeefanokee Swamp and a great value esp over the local cabin rentals. The owner is very accommodating as we were going to get there late. It is small town and he made arrangements for us. We were happy to be close to the swamp for our day trip and the gas station across the road had supplies we needed and my first taste of boiled peanuts. The worst part of the night was the train otherwise very quiet spot. The rooms are very clean (freshest sheets ever) and a great value but it is dated 70's.

Yes, its as the other reviewers say; very clean and comfortable, and very close to the park. It's kinda cool (I have a photo of me in front of the sign). And amazing value.

On a Sunday there aren't any places in town to eat but the petrol station accross the road has a good supply of provisions.

The powerful heater was a bit noisy but no noise from other guests or the road.

We were looking for a place to stay near the boat launch at the Suwanee River Visitor Center. This was the only motel for miles around. We were pleasantly surprised by this rustic old style four room motel. We found our room to be quiet, clean and spacious. The air conditioner kept the room cool, the bathroom water pressure was great and the satellite TV provided 200 channels. What more could you want at $32 a night?

I should first mention that the price of one night's stay is 32 dollars and ten cents. That being said, being in South Georgia, in the middle of nowhere, you would expect something slightly worse than awful. However, the Gator is actually very clean, very quiet (obviously), and even charming? Again, the room is 32 bucks, so there is some wear on the carpet, and in the bathroom, but it was all very clean - cleaner than rooms I've paid over 150 bucks for elsewhere.

The air conditioning was unbelievably cold - another plus. The location is, well, good, I guess. It is near the Swamp entrance, the gas station, and one restaurant in town. Actually, you could probably throw a rock and hit the gas station and restaurant from the parking lot of the motel.

The gator is great, not that anyone has a choice otherwise, but really, 32.10?? You can't pass that up. And you leave your money on the dresser when you leave!

This is a small 4 room motel. Reservations are made by calling the owners at home, No deposit is required. Your name is put on your room door, the door is left unlocked for your arrival and when you leave you put your money on the dresser and lock the door. The owners tell me they had an associated press writer do an article the Gator Motel several years ago. The article was published in newspapers all over the United States and in a Bejing, China newspaper. It also sparked the interest of Turner Broadcasting System and they taped an interview with the owner Kevin Hart taking you on a tour of this unique hotel for their show Liars & Legends. People come from all over the world - Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Australia, England, Italy just to name a few. This motel contains no ammenities but is clean and a experience not to be missed
