“Great food”
Reviewed 17 June 2014

Have visited this establishment twice within the past month. Called in for evening meal on the way home and priase highly both the service and the quality of the meal itself. The second occasion I was there for evening meal with a large group. The meal had been pre-ordered and again service was excellent and the meal hot as it should be and served quickly.

Would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to anyone.

“Place of Plenty!”
Reviewed 14 June 2014

Our Group ended its coach trip with a slap up meal at this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. I enjoyed a nicely hot meal, followed by a huge piece of cheesecake. The interior was excellently presented and being next to a river the restaurant sported several sailing boat ornaments. The time spent within was well worth it and definately an establishment to recommend.

“Good Plentiful Food”
Reviewed 11 June 2014

We were in the village for only a brief time and stopped in for lunch. It was very quiet and we were practically the only people in the place. The kid behind the bar was helpful and polite. We sat inside, but there was outdoor seating with a view. A great place to sit down and have a meal.

High quality food in a quality little village. Its a gem. So warm and lively. Service is beyond excellent! Everything on the menu is delicious. Beautifully prepared food, so tasty!! Highly recommend. Worth making the trip to this nice little village just to feast at the wild duck. 10/10!

“Scoreless draw!”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

My first visit about a month ago I would have said excellent, a less busy night and the staff were great. Its a country style pub with Irish country music everywhere and a live band at the weekend. This usually means the steak and chicken Maryland dishes are wholesome and the popular beer good as nothing stays in the keg for long. I enjoyed it a lot, the spacious surroundings are comfortable and plenty going on. I might be a little unfair as the next visit was busy with parties and a wedding going on, but plenty of staff and mostly good. Locals might get all the banter of course, but only until you become one. I had plaice with prawns on top and a butter sauce. They should not serve this dish without breadcrumbs unless its really good. It was some defrosted shrimps on pale watery fish at about £12 for the dish. Wish I ordered a burger. My advice, Sat night for beers chunky food and parties. Fine food and romance hmm.. its not really aimed at you.
