“We couldn't have been made to feel more welcome”

We're so glad we kept on driving to reach Folkston, instead of staying further north as we'd initially intended. The Inn was the nicest place we stayed on our road trip (Florida, Georgia, Carolinas), with the most charming hosts, Ted & Alease, who weren't at all fazed by our very late arrival. We just wish we could have stayed longer to take advantage of their lovely garden. The local barbeque shack they recommended was also very friendly with very good food. Excellent breakfast and very handy for the Okefenokee. A great way to end our trip, as we then headed straight back to Orlando airport.

Room Tip: Don't be deterred by guide book review which mentions noise from trains - we were only vaguely a...

Thank you very much for taking the time to review our B&B! Thank you especially for the note about how some books list the trains as a negative when they really are not. We hope others will come and see that we are not right next to the tracks as some would think.
Best Wishes to you!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for our 4th Anniversary on May 1st as part of a 7 day motorcycle trip and we could not have been HAPPIER with everything! The room was great, the breakfast was awesome and the service was FABULOUS and we had a great time.

We had a delightful stay at the Inn at Folkston. Ted and Alease are gracious owners, and we felt so welcome there. The beds were very comfortable, rooms are spacious and we loved the breakfast, especially the blueberry pancakes. We spent our day watching trains and touring the Okefenokee Swamp. Great location for these activities! Highly recommend!

This was our second visit. The new owners are gracious and helpful. Breakfast was super in taste and presentation. We were in the Lighthouse room with its own side porch. Two suggestions: install a full length mirror; turn and flip the mattress. We enjoyed the inn, train watching, and the swamp boat tour.

Gracious hosts, fine breakfast, beautiful building and close to Okefenokee Swamp. This B and B is at the top of my list for sure! There is a huge front porch for stting and relaxing. Lots of information available for local attractions. The town itself is pleasant with some nice small shops. The train viewing area is a must for railfans. The owners are new and seem genuinely interested in making their guests feel at home and well cared for. The Inn makes the phrase "southern hospitality" ring true. We will definitely return and I hope sooner than later.

Room Tip: We had the Railroad Room, and it was perfect.

Howard and Susan

Ted was a wonderful host perfectly suited to Folkston since he had worked for CSX for 23 years and knew all there was to know on the subject of trains. Sixty of them pass by everyday and to visit the viewing platform several blocks away was an adventure. There were half a dozen train spotters equipped with receivers to pick up the conversation between the various trains crews. The spotters took great pride in predicting the next 100-car to come through and what they might be carrying by hearing the train number broadcast over the receivers.

Our room and bed were very comfortable and quiet. The entire house was charmingly Victorian.

The next morning Ted prepared a delicious breakfast and gave us a preview of our next stop: Blue Spring State Park in Florida with manatees galore.

Highly recommended!

My husband is a rail fan and staying at the INN at Folkston was perfect for both of us. He got to enjoy the ' railroad ' part watching trains at the Folkston Funnel while I enjoyed the "Relaxation" offered by the ambience of the Inn and the gracious hospitality of the owners Ted and Alese.
The two of us were treated to one of Ted's delicious breakfasts with fresh fruit, omelets, biscuits, juice and plenty of really good coffee. Both my husband and I look forward to our next visit and highly recommend this lovely B&B.
