“Good and very clean hotel”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

Stayed here recently for a long weekend and the hotel is very good. Lobby staff are nice and friendly. Rooms are very clean and have comfortable beds. Free breakfast actually was good and had a lot of variety. Free wifi and parking.

I booked our one night stay after reading some of the other reviews. I booked over the phone and then upon arrival had to give our info all over again. It was not mentioned during our telephone booking that the hotel was under construction. I have been charged twice for the same room on the same night. The breakfast was not very good with the "hot" eggs and sausage being cold. The room was not a true suite but just slightly larger than an average room and beds were like bricks. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone.

at the time we stayed here they were undergoing renovations. but it did not seem to affect us at all. in fact, we were in a newly renovated suite that was top notch. the carpet was brand new as well as most everything in the room. the suite was large and had a king size bed, which we found to be very comfortable.
staff members were all very helpful, friendly and concerned. breakfast was not overwhelming, but adequate.

the location is off the main road so noise is minimal. free wifi and a wide selection on the television.

the only drawback is the fact that the walls are extremely thin. we could hear just about everything that was going on in the next room. and we overheard another guest saying the same thing at breakfast the next morning. fortunately for us we had quieter neighbors for the remaining nights.

all in all…we had a pleasant stay. and we recommend staying here if you are not bothered a great deal by loud neighboring guests.

Although the hotel is in the middle of renovations the staff was so helpful and congenial it made our stay a pleasure. The room was very spacious and the bed was excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you need a place in Gainesville.

We arrived late at night on a weekday. Checkin went very well. Desk attendant told us of the remodeling work in the breakfast area and where to go in the morning. Areas on the first floor looked new, so I assume that was completed work. Our room looked good as well. No issues with a toilet as mentioned by another reviewer earlier. Did have a problem with a very musty smell with the bedding. We hoped it would go away if we turned the air on. Nope. Since we were staying multiple nights, we told the front desk in the morning of the problem. It was handled to our satisfaction, but should have been caught earlier by the staff. Bathroom needs more hooks than just one on the door. No good place for a towel when you shower. All towels and rags are stored on bins under the bathroom vanity. Toilet paper holders did not make the update list. Made a noise everytime you pulled on the roll. One roll fell out of the holder. Breakfast was less quality than your average hotel. Most items were frozen and not great quality. Internet was down for a day which caused some problems but that was fixed later as well. There is a Hilton Garden Inn across the way from this hotel. It is more expensive, but you won't have these problems. Overall, this place is going through a renovation that is making it better. Visually it looks good, but we encountered problems that you normally don't find in a hotel. Your choice.... accept problems at a lower price or pay more for the Hilton.

We were coming into town for an event that we were attending in Helen. However, we wanted a hotel with an indoor pool and this was the only hotel within an hour of Helen that was available with an indoor pool. This was the main reason that we did not mind driving so far out of our way, because my kids really wanted to swim. So we get to the hotel, check in and immediately change into our swimsuits, and run down to the pool all excited to play in the water. However, once we got into the pool area, we dip our feet into the water only to find out that it was freezing cold! Because of this we did not get to play in it at all while we were there. Totally frustrated, I went to the desk to ask them why it was so cold and the only response I got was, "it's suppose to be warm" without so much as an apology. Had I known this before booking, I would have not driven almost an hour out of our way and just stayed somewhere closer to Helen that didn't have a pool since we weren't able to get into it anyway.

I will say that other than the pool issue, I enjoyed the rest of the hotel. The hotel smelled and looked clean, and the rooms were really nice and modern. I also loved that the room had a pull out sofa bed so I was able to have my own bed without having to share with my kids. The breakfast was nice, but the breakfast area was very small and cramped. Overall I would recommend this hotel.

We moved hotels after starting out our weekend at Lanier Inn and Suites. Lanier Inn and Suites was such a terrible hotel that we could not stay more than one night! After making a reservation at Lake Lanier Suites we called and requested an early check-in so that we could leave the other hotel as soon as possible. I spoke with James and he was so friendly! He told us to come as soon as we could and he would get us in our room. He had everything ready by the time we arrived. The rooms were immaculate and the beds were so comfortable. The staff was so friendly the entire time we were there. Within walking distance of three chain resturants as well! The value for this hotel is outstanding. You could pay almost double for this type of quality at other hotels. Please stay here!!!
