“Easy 1 mile descent to breath taking view”

Only $4 a car. The hike is easy even for the rookies out there. The trail starts out paved then is pretty much level dirt. We enjoyed looking at all the trees and mushrooms growing from the rocks that have water seeping out of them. U can see part of the falls occasionally on your way down. When u get to the observation decks it is a WOW factor. Absolutely beautiful. U are able to get very close from the decks and is a great photo spot! The sound and the clean air will consume u.

“Things to know before you go”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Great hike with kids...ranger opens up the hiking parking lots at 10am, $4 parking (cash or ck) and this is true for anywhere you hike, there's a parking fee....pit restrooms at the parking lot (smelly!)...trail consists of trail and steps....at beginning part, when you get to bottom of the stairs, the trail comes to a "T", & the directional sign is missing. Go left! Then when it looks like you might've reached the end, look for a switchback on the right. (there was a family headed back who said they never found the falls and thought they might've missed a trail, that was it)....you'll reach an observation deck...can be slippery, so be careful on the steps...falls are breathtaking, and you're close enough to see a lot of detail in the rocks....it IS downhill there, uphill back, but not a steep grade at all....No benches along the way to rest if you would need to...Paths are wide and well graveled/mulched.....overall, great nature hike for a family with awesome payoff!

“A beatiful payoff at the end of an easy hike.”

When looking around for places to hike around Helen, GA, please visit Duke's Creek Falls. It's an easy hike, without much to look at along the way, but the falls are beautiful.

“Must visit”
Reviewed 28 June 2014 via mobile

My husband and I visited helen recently and decided to walk to the falls. It's 4 dollars per car so very affordable. The walk to the falls it's mostly traveling down and the trail is pretty easy the falls are beautiful and very much worth the walk in when you come out its more of a hike as it's up hill buy we took our time and just enjoyed the quit sound of nature. We are by no means in great shape and we had no problems just taking our time in and out.

“Great Waterfall(s)”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

Take this hike down to a great waterfall. Actually two waterfalls, and the mile hike is well worth it. Fantastic wood deck for viewing and picture taking, it is well above your average waterfall experience!
