The Lake Rabun Hotel never misses an opportunity to impress our guests, both with our local cuisine and with our award-winning service. Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice review. We cherish each and every one that comes through our doorway.
We live in Clarkesville GA. We have heard about Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant. When we walked in the Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant, it was beautiful! Wooden furniture was amazing. We had reservations in the Restaurant with friends. We did not have to wait. The atmosphere was good, and the food was excellent. We will go there again!
We are so happy that you had such a wonderful dining experience! Thank you for being our guests and taking the time to write such a lovely review about us.
We don't live very far away from the Lake Rabun Hotel, but wanted a quiet escape between Christmas and New Year's and did not want to drive a great distance. We chose the Lake Rabun Hotel and enjoyed every second of our escape. We arrived Friday evening and enjoyed a delicious meal (be sure to make a reservation). The peppermint martini was wonderful. Saturday evening we had another fantastic meal, this time with a mug of hot spiced cider - YUM! Breakfast is beyond any description I could give. Suffice it to say that you won't need lunch. The rooms are small, but had everything we needed. It was especially nice to get away from TV and ringing phones. The ambience was relaxing and enjoyable, and the decorations were lovely. Every staff member we encountered was helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to another opportunity to escape.
We are so glad that you were able to enjoy your "staycation" away from home! Thank you for taking the time to posting your experience at the Lake Rabun Hotel. We cannot wait to have you back!
After Christmas and a wonderful visit with family in North AL and North GA, we wanted to get away from it all before beginning the New Year back in NC. So it was with delight that we found LRH in Lakemont, GA. As we drove through the GA Mountains, and up to Lakemont, we were delighted at the sight of this rustic, charming Inn! We had an informative tour and orientation by Mary and were immediately impressed with the hospitality and charm of all! We had dinner reservations, (highly recommended) and we could not have been more surprised and delighted at the selection! The restaurant is 5 star in every aspect! We stayed in the Andrea Room and were cozy with our fireplace on the cold nights! It has a timer and went out when we were long asleep! The beds are soft, so if you need a firm bed, stay in the cottage! Loved the balcony just outside our room, where Chloe, the Inn's cat, lay curled up! The Christmas decorations and firelpace hearth added all the more ambiance to the sitting area downstairs! The sideboard upstairs offered tea and coffee, as well as Christmas cookies, throughout the day, which was perfect as we came and went throughout the day! Mary advised us with things to do, such as visiting Tallulah Falls, touring the Lakes, and enjoying Clarkesville, Tiger, Lakemont and Clayton, GA! To my delight, as we rode through the mountainside, if I saw one turkey, I saw a hundred! We enjoyed the board games in the parlor and I have never had such wonderful gourmet breakfasts which are included! We stayed three nights and would do it all over again! We highly recommend this beautiful retreat in North GA!
If I had just one word to describe you as our guests I would simply say: delightful. We genuinely love getting to know our guests and provide "above and beyond" service to everyone. We count both of you friends as well. The drink, by the way, is simply called the Honey Ginger Cocktail. We thank you so much for your patronage and cannot wait to see the two of you again.
I'll never do justice to this hotel or our experience here. We recently returned from a 4 night get-away to the Lake Rabun Hotel. We loved it as soon as we pulled in. Rustic and warm from the outside and even warmer inside. Decorated beautifully for Christmas, we reeled in the sights, sounds and smells of this place. Continuous Christmas music was piped throughout and even outside. At night, the lights and temperatures made it look and feel just the way Christmas should.
The staff was outstanding...friendly, helpful and downright engaging. From Jenna to Mary to Robin and even the owner, Gwen, was there and each of them, in their own special way, made us so comfortable and at home. We were surprised that we had the place almost to ourselves. We thought more people would be looking for the cool temps and vacation time just before Christmas. We are from Florida where Christmas is usually in the 70's. But, we did meet a wonderful couple from Alaska along with the gentlemen's mother. We really enjoyed getting to know them and learning about life in the Arctic Circle. They even invited us to visit them! The food was beyond perfect. Wonderful breakfasts are included and a relaxing way to start the day. The restaurant is not open every night in the winter season but the last night we were there, it was open. The food was excellent and the service was superb. The wait-staff knew what each and everything on the menu was and could tell us how it was cooked and the ingredients. There's also a cocktail that they made up that was so good we got the recipe! I can't remember the name but it's made with Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey. Try one! I could go on and one but will stop with this...we want to go back. They are having a New Years Eve party that sounds right up my alley. Yes, the rooms are small and the walls are thin but it didn't bother us a bit. Thanks again Jenna, Mary, Robin and Gwen. We count you all as friends! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
I just have to say that the pleasure was all ours getting to you know you both. It was so wonderful having you as our only guests for a few days. You had the unique experience of getting to know the in's and out's of the hotel all on your own. We never tire of hearing our guest rave about the time that they have spent here. We thank you very much, and our doors are always open whenever you want to come back.
This is definitely a unique property and a great place to meet new people who share a love of fine cuisine and rustic elegance. The spa massage options were a plus and surprisingly good. It rained the entire time we were there but we couldn't have been happier visiting a nearby winery and sitting by the fire! Luckily the sun came out in time for us to take a hike up to the water falls near by. If you are ever in Atlanta take a drive north to this historic lodge - it is absolutely worth the trip.
It seems that the best thing to do while it's raining is to have a great massage and a nice glass of wine! We are happy that the gloomy weather didn't spoil your trip, and we are always grateful for such kind words. We are so appreciative of all of our guests and love to help them have an amazing experience at such a unique and wonderful vacation destination. Thank you again for taking the time to review Lake Rabun Hotel and we look forward to having you as our guest in the future!
