I dropped by out of curiosity and was impressed by the selection of (mostly Mexican) Latin American foods. They had a pretty large bakery / desert section and I picked up a little treat for myself and it was very good. This is definitely a unique little place, and if I am in the area again I will return and try some of their dinner fare based on the quality of their pastries. If you are looking for a unique desert / treat shop then this is the place to try.

I have not tried the restaurant, but have been to the grocery store many times. They have a good assortment of products from Argentina like yerba mate, tapas de empanadas, dulce de leche... It has become progressively harder to find Argentinean products in the metro Atlanta area, so it is great to have La Carreta!

Locals know it by word of mouth. On the outside it looks like a hispanic grocery but once you are seated in the small dining area you are in for a treat. The tostones (fried mashed plantains) with guacamole are phenomenal. We have tried everything on the menu and have not been disappointed. Even the picky "meat and potato" grandparents like it. Good selection of beers and futbol always on the television. Top the meal off with homemade flan.

We read a review about this small half grocery store / half restaurant, and thought we would try it for dinner with friends. What a wonderful surprise! We had a scrumptious meal of fresh ingredients that was better than a few four star restaurants I have been to recently in Atlanta and NYC, and I am not kidding. We did not go for a sophisticated wine list, so if that is what you are expecting, forget that. The experience is about a clean, rustic environment, excellent attentive service, and non-greasy authentic Columbian food that had an artful, simple presentation. Our server was Enriche (please excuse my mis-spelling), and the owner is Consuelo, who came out to greet us. I had shrimp quesadillas and for dessert, a warm freshly baked chocolate brownie with a surprise on the top. Almost forgot: we started the meal with a suggested plate of plantains and guacamole, the best I have had in Atlanta. Even better than my own, which is darn good. So there you have it. I hope they continue a wonderful business, but are not so over-run that they will not have a table for me! You may see us there! It is our new favorite spot in Cobb, we will be taking our traveling relatives and friends there when they come to town. PS: Easy to locate because it is along Roswell Rd (Marietta!), out in front of Harry's/Whole Foods, and down the street from the Big Chicken.
