“High on the hill”
Reviewed 21 June 2014

This must be a new hotel, very nice but a bit out of sight if not out of the way. It is very high on a hill and not very well marked with signage but is in a very pretty and private location. Desk help was superb. Breakfast was fair but didn't include a separate meat such as bacon. There was good sausage and gravy though.

We had a great stay here. Rome didn't have very much to offer so we decided this would be best choice. It was very clean. The beds were so comfortable. They had a nice breakfast with eggs, biscuits, gravy, fruit, juice, muffins, coffee and cereal..a lot to choose from. I think the only complaint I have is they should do some repairs. We had a broken mirror on our closet door and the tile in the bathroom was a little busted up. Other than that is was a very nice room. If we have to make a trip to Rome again we would choose to stay there.

First time to Rome, GA and took my shot at this La Quinta for my 1 night stay. It wasn't bad, but wasn't anything special either. Located at the top of a gravity-defying hill... I would hate to see that sucker in the winter! Do they even get snow/ice down this far??

o Front Desk - Staff was very helpful and professional. He took his time to explain the layout of the hotel, elevators, room location, WiFi access, breakfast times etc.

o Room - Everything was clean and welcoming upon arrival. The bed & pillows were very comfortable. Side note, the heavy blanket that's between the nice white sheets must be a La Quinta thing as I've not seen that elsewhere... it's old looking & slightly off-white, yellow-ish almost... doesn't scream "clean." (just my .02) Flatscreen TV was good.

The bathroom was very cramped- I had to shut the door to use the shower and open it fully to use the sink. May have been my particular room though, as I was directly behind the elevator.

Property was definitely dated and had that older feeling. Seemed well enough maintained but you can't maintain that "new" and "current" feeling forever. I did run a couple miles on the treadmill which was fine, no weights however, just a treadmill/stair climber/ elliptical.

Breakfast was OK, had powdered eggs, biscuits/gravy, waffle maker, and some bagels, juice. Not great but adequate.

we always stay at La Quinta everywhere we go. The rooms are great and have never had any problem with the staff anywhere we go. We always take our dog with us and are never charged anything extra for her. I am very pleased with service at all La Quinta's we have stayed at. As a matter of fact we have a reservation at the La Quinta next weekend in Kennessaw ga for our anniversary.

We recently stayed 3 nights at La Quinta in Rome, Georgia. Had we not been trying to stay at the same hotel as our son's team we might have changed hotels after the first night. The lobby area is extremely small and it was difficult to accommodate everyone affiliated with the team--not to mention the team itself. The breakfast choices were certainly not abundant. We opted to walk to the only restaurant nearby which was similar to a Waffle House. The room was adequate and clean but we had a huge problem with internet availability. We were given conflicting advice as to how to access it and were even told the problem was our computers. We have stayed at several different hotels in Rome on previous occasions. I think it's safe to say we will not be staying at La Quinta again anytime soon.

We chose this hotel because of its policy for accepting dogs, it is especially helpful. It would be convenient to have an Applebee's or Friday's or a similar type of restaurant close by, better yet to be able to walk to.
