“Yes, this place is wonderful - believe it!”

Wow, we were absolutely impressed from the moment we walked in. It's such a cute little place, and the manager greeted us cheerfully at the door indicating where we could be seated. He was there in a flash to greet everyone personally and welcome them and then point to a table where they could sit. The tables were covered in which tablecloths and then butcher paper on top ... very cool. The breakfast menu has plenty for everyone, eggs of all kinds, pancakes, waffles, yogurt and granola, biscuits, grits, etc. It does not end. It's extensive. There's plenty of great photo art to enjoy on the walls while waiting for your food. We were immediately served coffee and the server was there constantly to check on us - excellent service. Everyone was very cheerful, friendly, and the service was great. The food was excellent, the place was clean, and not only locals, but also visitors were greeted equally and welcomed. That is impressive. You really felt comfortable and all people had plenty of smiles - we all enjoyed our breakfasts and were off to enjoy another beautiful day on SSI. Yes, this place is well worth your time - they now serve dinner on Thurs, Fri and Saturday.

“Palmer has it right!”

Always enjoy coming here on our annual visit to SSI. Food is awesome & the friendly service is even better. My 5 year old daughter said 'their grits are better than M&M's!'

“Amazing Breakfast!”
Reviewed 27 June 2014 via mobile

Loved this place! Service is fast and friendly. Food is excellent! We had the green eggs (scrambled with diced herbs and white cheddar) and ham. Also included a biscuit with a sweet tomato relish/jam. Sooo good!! Also ate huervos rancheros with an egg over easy. Delicious. Coffee was kept filled and cafe is located in an interesting old building. If you are tired of same old same old breakfast, do not miss this one! Good value too. Wish they published a cookbook... I would buy in a heart beat... and I'm picky about that sort of thing.

“Make reservations”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

We came here for dinner and were put in the back corner because we didn't have reservations and they weren't opening the second dining room. There was probably one other occupied table, but fair enough.

The bread was crusty and delicious and my salad was also good--next time I'l ask if they could put two scallops on top instead of one. The meatloaf and pasta were both flavorful, vegetables not overcooked. The kitchen staff was really on top of it that evening.

The blackberry cobbler had a risky 5 spice addition which actually paid off pretty well. The end result was a warm and aromatic treat with a cake like crust and, in true southern fashion, a scoop of vanilla ice-cream on top.

By the end of our meal half of the dining room was still empty. The lesson here is that any place wanting to seat me in the hallway like a red-headed orphan, better be offering some particularly delectable din-din. I'd say Palmer's is that place.

“"Delicious"”

I had the islander omlette with cheese grits. Both were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend this place to anyone on St. Simons.
