“gorgeous views, bring your kayak”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

We enjoyed a one week stay in a marsh-view 2 bedroom condo-style hotel room. We took a sea kayak and enjoyed daily paddles out into the marsh - so serene. We wen to Jekyll most days, and it was an easy and beautiful 20 minute drive. The room decor was nice, very comfortable beds, complete kitchen, daily cleaning service (loved this!), and updated bathrooms. Sea Palms is a lovely area.

Room Tip: ask for a renovated room

We've stayed at Sea Palms twice in the past year. Once last September, and then this month. We stayed in a king bed studio room. Interestingly, we were given the exact same room both times. Not sure if this was by coincidence, or planned. In any case, that was ok, because we liked the room and the view. It was on the third floor of one of the farther buildings, overlooking a lake and one of the golf holes. There was a row of trees between the lake and the marsh, in which the sea birds roosted in at night. Fish constantly jumped in the lake, and turtles basked in the sun on the shore. AND, on occasion, there was an ALLIGATOR swimming around and sunning himself on the bank! Very neat to see outside your hotel window. But, on to the room itself. It was a big room, with a kitchenette, table, couch, king bed, nice flat screen TV, with many channels. It was a very comfortable room. The bathroom was a bit worn. The showerhead was a bit crusty, and hard to adjust, but it did have strong water pressure. The toilet occasionally would not stop running, the stopper was a bit worn and warped, requiring me to take the lid off to temporarily "fix". At home, this kind of thing is expected, but not so much at an upperscale resort. Each time of our stay, we were on packages, that provided breakfast. Our stay in September allowed us to choose a certain amount off the menu, and breakfast and service was fantastic. This time was a breakfast buffet. The buffet was nice on the days we got up early, but later mornings, the food was not as appetizing. I preferred the menu option of our first trip better. We did not have any other meals in the restaurant except for breakfast and dessert one late evening which was good. It was a bit too cold to utilize the pool this trip, but we did on our trip in September. The pool was very nice, but the towels were not replentished very often and several of the trips, we had to do without. Overall, we've enjoyed our two stays at Sea Palms, and will likely stay again on future visits to St. Simons Island.

Upon arriving to the condos at Sea Palms, from the outside they look like a typical and ordinary condo complex. But open the door to one of units and they are very upscale and nice. They have been updated with very nice furniture, beds, linens, towels. Granite baths and kitchen, two balconies and wonderful views of the golf course. For the price you can't get any better!

What is taking so long? Same stained carpets, peeling wallpaper in bath, dirty grout. It had a new bedspread, but it was stained. Housekeeping could take care of that! Our balcony was missing some boards and wasps had taken up residence. No screen door. Needed a repairman to replace toilet parts to flush it. Bed needs to be replaced.
As usual, view of marshes remains fine and their peel and eat shrimps were great. Heard there is a new chef. Food still good. Winter was hard on the golf course--fairways hurt, but most greens were in good shape.

Not the type of review we like to see. Room inspections were done and items have been addressed. We hope that you will give us another chance and visit us again. We will still have the great peel and eat shrimp!

I recently stayed at Sea Palms for a golf outing w/ about 30 other golfers. We stayed two nights in the Windward Point condos and played two rounds of golf. I definitely recommend staying in Windward Point..these are nice roomy units that sleep 3 to 5 people. The course was in pretty good condition considering the rough winter they just had. The Sea Palms office staff(Robin is the BEST!!) helped organize our group trip and I must say that it was very reasonably priced considering the quality of the accommodations and the condition of the course. I would recommend Sea Palms Resort to anyone looking to take a large group golfing w/ affordable group rates.

My husband and I stayed at Sea Palms for our first wedding anniversary and we weren't terribly impressed. The room was comfortable but kind of shabby, and it had two double beds instead of the king we booked - not ideal for a romantic weekend. I was disappointed in the lack of amenities, especially room service. The resort's location is convenient to many things one might be interested in doing and the Putter's Club restaurant has decent food, but that's not enough to bring us back.

Went on a golf package or our 28th anniversary. Great deal. Stayed 3 nights. Pkg included a really nice king suite, golf for 2 for 3 days and breakfast every morning. Everyone was extremely nice starting with check -in to check- out. Food was good as was the service. The second day of golf (we stored our clubs since we'd be playing again) when we arrived for our our tee time
the cart was ready to go. They had put a small rose bouquet on the cart,. Nice touch! As for the course itself the greens were great. There were some fairways in not so great condition. However, everyone's' azaleas were in bloom and it made the course absolutely beautiful. We liked the course layout alot..

Room Tip: Get a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor to enjoy the views. Every room has a view of the marsh or the gol...
