“Perfect Honeymoon”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was beyond perfect. From the super comfortable beds, to the delicious local chocolates on the pillows. We really enjoyed having a drink after dinner each night at the pub. It was also very nice to be able to walk everywhere. Nothing more romantic than strolling with your lover down streets draped with Spanish moss. We can't wait to return to this wonderful hotel.

Room Tip: Pool facing top floor with a balcony

Even though this place is only two blocks away from everything. It is secluded in the trees and Spanish moss and provides a serene atmosphere. The staff are always helpful and the rooms are always clean. Enjoyed the towels so much, we bought a set for our house. A must stay in St. Simmons.

We spent our Honeymoon here and it was just perfect! I could not have asked for better accommodations and it was in walking distance to many things! It is an absolutely beautiful place. Since we had never been to St Simons before, we were not sure exactly where we wanted to stay, but it turned out to be the best possible location for us.

Room Tip: It seemed like the whole place had a serenity about it, very peaceful and relaxing place.

We enjoyed our stay at the Village Inn. We really enjoy a balcony and were pleased that we had one to ourselves, not all the rooms do. We were also lucky to have received a substantial discount on our room. We enjoy smaller hotels, so the Village Inn and Pub fit our taste. We were also fine with the breakfast of cereal, hard boil eggs, bagels, muffins, etc. We loved that we could walk into the village to eat, shop and enjoy the pier. Our room, not being near the bar, was quiet and nicely decorated. Not sure the some of the other rooms would have worked as well for us, but the room we were in was great!

We chose the Inn as part of a week long vacation to celebrate our 30th anniversary. I had stayed here about 10 years ago but when traveling alone. We have been to St Simons before and knew the Village/Pier area well.

The Inn is lovely- very nice patio and small pool shaded by live oaks dripping with Spanish moss. Our room (a queen) was very nice with two very comfortable chairs (we watched World Cup Soccer during the heat of the day). We didn't sit on the small balcony but it would nice nice for coffee in the morning or a drink at night.

We didn't eat breakfast at the Inn (it wasn't much to speak of). We got coffee and walked to the Village to eat where we have been many times before.

We had an after dinner drink on the patio two of the three nights we were there. Friday night there was live music and the pub was packed and I could barely squeeze in to order at the bar.

We stayed in room 209. Had we been closer to the pub I am pretty sure the music would have bothered us. Even as far away as we were, I could here the music at a very muffled level well past 11:00 that night.

We would highly recommend the Inn for a get-away. We saw some well behaved children there, younger than five years old, but we both thought the Inn is better suited for adults (the King and Prince has a great pool and space for kids to run around, better suited for children).

We ate all our meals in the Village because we didn't want to drive and we knew we could eat well in the Village area (you can spend as much or as little as you want depending on your mood and what you want to eat).

The only downside to the Village/Pier area, if you don't want to drive, is the lack of any beach during high tide. We planned accordingly, but there is a very nice park a short drive away if you want more beach time.

There is one reason to drive while staying at the Village Inn and Pub-at least window shop at Gogo in Redfern Village.

We recommend the Inn for a relaxing beach vacation.

Rooms are very clean and staff has thought of little extra things that make you feel at home. Always something to snack on or drink in the Inn . Breakfast which is included is excellent! Great location to restaurants, shops and the pier! We will be back!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful until our last night. I have to say that the village is beautiful and very well kept which is a big plus in my book. On the other hand, I was very disappointed on our last night when the pub was having a birthday party for someone that wasn't a guest at the village and took all of the parking. We needed the parking so we could load our luggage and since we were paying almost $200/night to stay I felt that the guest should have parking over visitors to the pub. We were told by the lady at the front desk to park across the road at Dairy Queen and they shouldn't tow our vehicle. I was shocked that they would even ask a guest to do this. I thought this was very rude and not the way a guest should be treated. Gorgeous place but do not think I will stay again!

Room Tip: You may want to get a room on the pet friendly side because these are the only rooms with refrigerat...
