“Quaint and relaxing Getaway”
Reviewed 22 February 2011

Much needed rest and relaxation from the frigid north. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Nice open and clean rooms. Breakfast was great and nice to sit at pool in warm weather. Close to shops, beach, playground and parks. Would stay longer next time.

We absolutely LOVED our stay! We visited the Inn for Valentines Day weekend and were not at all disappointed - very clean, wonderful staff, within walking distance to everything we wanted, the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in, and the view from the balcony of room 201 was nothing short of breathtaking! We will definitely stay again very soon!

The Village Inn and Pub is a beautiful and secluded retreat for those seeking a relaxing place to stay on St. Simons Island. It is perfectly located for visitors who prefer to walk through the village and select one of the island’s great restaurants for a meal, enjoy a beverage at one of the friendly taverns or simply sit by the ocean and meditate. The pub is very comfortable and a great place to meet with friends or make new ones. This place reminds me of the quaint courtyard hotels of the French Quarter. It is also very reasonably priced.

What a romantic stay at the "Village Inn and Pub" at St. Simon Island for Valentine's Day! We arrived at 2 PM (before check in time) and we were accommodated forthright. The staff treated us like "royalty" and ushered us into our room. We loved our room and the balcony overlooking the pool and pub. There were valentine candies already arranged in the room upon our arrival and a "mini-frig" placed as I had requested. The linens and towels were to "die for" and the bath robes made it even more special.

The "pub" is the perfect place to reminisce with friends on the island and it's just a short walk to your room. Drink prices were well within limit's and the bartenders were excellent. WIFI was excellent as well once you signed in.

We shall be returning to this hotel in the future as it is so accommodating for short walks to the pier and village of St Simon Island. The food there is so delicious that you can not resist the urge to return.

I highly recommend a golf cart for the day from "High Tide Golf Cart Rentals" just a block away,.as they will deliver your cart (best for photography and sight seeing) to your door at reasonable prices. Parking is difficult on the island and the golf cart fits in the anywhere. In fact, you can travel the entire island on your golf cart as it is permissible by local law enforcement.

What a great place to stay for vacation!

We love this inn! My 2 sisters and I stayed here last weekend. We just parked our car and walked around town from our charming base of operations. The rooms are well-furnished with lovely linens, up-to-date decor, and everything was in good repair. We have no complaints about the service. In fact, Wanda was at the front desk on Sunday morning when we needed a computer and she was most helpful and allowing us to use the one in the office. The bartender on Saturday was a busy professional with plenty of Southern charm. The live music was awesome. Every morning there was a continental breakfast that included fruit, yogurt, every type of muffin and pastry imaginable, you could make your own mini waffles or make regular toast and English muffins. The coffee was available 24/7 and was very good - much appreciated on those cold, blustery days. The location is great - step out of the pub or your room and you're literally in front of restaurants, other bars, and shops. And just a little farther down is the beach and the lighthouse! My sisters and I are Southern girls who recognize great hospitality and sincere wamth when we see it. We will definitely be back when it's warmer.

We paid more to stay at this inn because it had such a great review from Southern Living. I'd love to know what room they had, because we paid extra $ for a room with a balcony only to be gazing out upon the back alley of a restaurant. The carboard boxes and piles of buckets weren't the view we'd hoped for. There was also a large pole with a transformer just feet from our balcony. The party noise from the street was awful (Saturday) and went well into the night. Also, the street views in the front overlook the Dairy Queen across the street. If you are willing to pay their price for a (tiny) room, demand to get a room that overlooks the courtyard. It is a pretty inn, but there are several nice b&b's in the area that cost much less and have much better views.
