I went to this restaurant on 7/23 at 7:30 pm (that was a Wednesday). The restaurant was not overly busy and we were seated promptly. Everything went down hill from there! It took the waitress about 15 minutes before she came over to ask for our drink order. Then it took another 15 minutes for her to return to ask for our order. She disappeared again (although we saw her occasionally flitting around the restaurant). We ordered stuffed mushrooms and got 4 of them and they weren't very good (and very pricey). They weren't served by the waitress. I have no idea where she was. We sat for about 45 minutes before we asked the hostess to find the waitress so we could get our food. The hostess hailed down the waitress who then brought out our food with no comment whatsoever. She never came back to ask if things were ok. I guess she was mad because we had to ASK her to bring our food out. While all this was going on, I could see people coming into the restaurant, being seated, being served, and LEAVING before we even had our entrees (at least 3 other tables)! The food was AWFUL. I had spaghetti and meatballs. How can an Italian restaurant mess that up? The sauce was bland and tasted like smashed tomatoes (no thickness, no seasoning whatsoever). The cappellini was overcooked and sticky. The meatballs had no seasoning, no taste, and were hard as rocks. We had to go out to the hostess again to get our check because the waitress never came back to the table. It took us over 2 hours to get out of that place. I stopped to tell the hostess how horrible it was, and she defended the restaurant stating that "the kitchen must have gotten backed up" (no, because others came in 30 min after us and left 30 min before us) and that "the sauce was home made" (anyone can smash up tomatoes and serve it on mushy angel hair pasta). It was a horrible and disappointing beginning to our St Simon's vacation. So AVOID THIS PLACE or if you go there, DO NOT ACCEPT RECEIVING SERVICE FROM THE WOMEN WITH THE BIG EARRINGS WHO HAS POOR SPEACH AND DON'T ORDER SPAGHETTI AND MEATBALLS!
